Hi guys, do you guys know/have any insight into the current state/progress of drivers for the new 8970M card for the latest Clevo laptop releases? Clevo lists some drivers, but for Windows 8 (i have Windows 7). Do any of you guys know what the most stable release is or should i depend upon my Clevo reseller/distributor? Is it a big no-no for example to use Sager 8970M windows 7 64 bit drivers in a Eurocom or Pro-Star laptop if all components are the same?

Also, has anyone had any issues with Enduro? Did you manually have to change the launch settings for different applications?

    Thank you for any replies.

You can get it from your supplier, or from the horse's mouth: AMD Catalyst

It's best to not use a driver from another supplier, just to be safe. The driver comes from Clevo, but the system BIOS may be different between different suppliers.

ProStar is not a person on his/her own. He/she stands for a reseller company. :)

Oh i see, in that case, Pro Star, as in independent entity capable of reason that may not exist materially and has no corporeal form, is good.

I would maybe agree when it comes to things like a bios but when it comes to graphics drivers, no single supplier like eurocom is big enough to have AMD do a special driver for them so they will be cross compatible.

I did not know that. Thank you for this information. Just to be clear, the graphics drivers, as well as some others, should pretty much be the same across different clevo resellers, so if i cant get the latest driver from my own reseller, i can turn to an alternative reseller, as long as its the same component?

One another point to clarify, it was mentioned that the drivers come from Clevo. Is this the same case for graphics drivers such as Nvidia's 780 card or ATI's 8970 that Clevo use in their machines?

Graphics drivers are best obtained directly from nvidia or amd.

Thanks for the reply again. I'm getting confused now. Some people are saying its best NOT to get the graphics drivers directly from AMD/Nvidia due to things like it being "OEM" (sp?). But you are saying its better to get it direct. What would be the safest option?

    Direct from amd.com or nvidia.com.

Sometimes close to launch they wont work straight away but they would just not install rather than break anything. If that happens then oem or modded.

It doesn't matter if it's safe or not. A bad driver may glitch your game but won't kill your hardware.

Always get your driver directly from NV or AMD first. If something goes wrong, ask here.

It's better to get drivers directly from NV/AMD because drivers from resellers tend to lag behind a lot. Resellers usually won't bother updating their drivers as long as it sort of works.

Just download directly from amd.com without any fear.
