Seems the only way to get this is through the ASIA download link in the Clevo drivers page, as the USA download link gives you version 2.34.49 and resellers I've checked only offer older versions (Sager specially seems to have hopelessly botched their drivers page since the website redesign).
Anyway it adds some new fan control functionality:
![]()
And changes the Backlit Keyboard software adding some unecessary bloat in the form of macros and a thing that records your keypresses for statistics. Yep. At least they improved the color picker:
![]()
But I have a P177SM-A and there's no option to change the trackpad/power button colors. Maybe that's one of the reasons it isn't available at large yet. At least when it's supported we'll be able to use the full color options instead of being limited to 8.
Plus some bug fixes I've noticed:
- The on-screen display for caps lock, num lock, etc doesn't seem to take focus away from current window anymore
- The lightbar thingie the P177SM-A has isn't disabled by default everytime hotkey starts (this is a 2.34.49 bug - or maybe a feature, some people seem to find it distracting). But if you don't know you can toggle it on/off with fn + - (the minus above the letter P)
Worth mentioning the download page says EC version 1.03.09 or later is required when the latest available is 1.03.08... EDIT: Nevermind about that, 1.03.09 available here: https://biosmods.wordpress.com/stock/

Oooh. Looks nice.
Just downloaded all the updated drivers/BIOS for my laptop (P170SM-A) when it comes. MySN.co.uk may or my not have the updated hotkey software. How can I check without being able to install it? The version number given in the .ini files is totally different. i.e. Hotkey 2.34.49 for MySN's and Hotkey 2.31.42 for Clevo's (which is marked 3.08.20 on the page). There's an almost 20mb difference in file size. Are they branded?
Anyway, MySN have the latest BIOS (1.03.09) listed. It was only put up yesterday though so maybe others haven't sorted it out yet. Bug them until they do. -
Eh the latest version is the 3.09.21.
i do not advice you playing with custom fan profile it is not optiaml as of yet, my advice is in idle, to get rid of the GPU fan spinning quickly for a few seconds, select custom fan and in game select AUTOMATIC -
I really like that fan activation/speed depending on the temps. I wish it had a gpu and cpu temp performance limiter so I won't keep having to use msi afterburner with its annoying UAC prompts. XTU doesn't have a CPU temp limiter.

Now I only wish I knew what the "headphone" option does...it disappeared from the GUI on 2.34.46, then returned on the other versions. I just leave it on direct. -
Does anyone know where to get the bios required for this hotkey update? I have been searching for a while now...

Wrong bios or manipulation will brick your laptop. -

Any word on if that website is legit?

I changed the title to P1XXSM-A. Different models use different Hotkey versions.
I'm about to rip my hair out trying to figure out why I can't get LCD brightness control on a fresh Windows install. Thought it was 7 but 8.1 is broken too and the 3.10.23 on Clevo's site is crashing as soon as I open it. -
) he makes tons of modified (V)bios for Clevo's and he is a partner of many resellers (like Mythologic) allowing them to put custom bios for their machines.
And, to make it all even better, most of the time, his stock BIOS list is updated faster than most reseller.
To end it, he is also quite cool
