    Ok, this is fun!

I removed and deleted the forceware - driver and rebooted and cleaned up. Then I installed a clevo-driver and shut of the Wlan with fn+F11 - and the soundcrackling and graphicslags where gone - at least all the soundproblems where gone. Then I turned on the wlan just to try, and the graphics started to lag, but the audio where still fine.

Then i rebooted the computer, and you know what? Now the audio crackles and graphics lags as in the first place.... - with wlan on.

So if it's impossible to play with wlan on, i have to get something else...

I've tried another reinstall of vista with updated bios, new chipset, gpu, audio, wlan, ITM etc - drivers with no luck.

I can't imagine that my problems is caused by drivers anymore. Has to be hardware- issues...

Could be, I had the issues before I got a new laptop. Also a x9100 but now in a complete new barebone (after a lot of false promises). My problems are gone, and the installation order of chipset and wlan drivers don't seem to matter now (installed wlan first from cd, then downloaded and installed newest graphic driver, chipset drivers, and newest wlan drivers).

I update my NB some minutes ago.
Sound,Video & Gaming issues seems to be gone :).
Games also seems to me running smoother now.
About the intenal clock issue I can't anything atm.

hm only the CPU runs now 3458 MHz instead of 3510
and the 9800M GTX says it has 2813 MB memory

Well, the last thing I need to fix is the vsync lagging (random 1 sec FPS fall-off).

Clevo does not provide iso images, just individual files. You can boot from a usb stick using zfactors guide in my sig.

    Combined BIOS 1.00.09 & KBC/EC 1.00.08

run step1.bat then after restart run step2.bat

    OK, better do that.
Is there a command for restarting after step1.bat, or do I have to "kill" it with the power on/off button by pressing it for some seconds?

I can't get the iso into individual files onto a usb stick, and if i burn it to cd it just auto runs the program so i can do bat1 and then bat2...Am i retarded or what. I am using Poweriso and if i hit extact to, nothing happens, there is nothing on the usb stick even if i have used it to boot into dos..

First you make a bootable usb.

The usb will look like if it was empty.

    Then you unpack the biosfolder.

Make a new folder on the usb-stick. call it clevo

then open the unpacked biosfolder from clevo and copy all files into the clevofolder on the usb stick.

Reboot. push F2 - go inside bios and make you laptop boot from usb. then push F10 and accept (or something)

Then, when you the laptop reboots now, it will boot to a C prompt.
    Type:CD\clevo

    then you get: C:\CLEVO:
    type step1.bat and push enter

the flashing starts. Then reboot when told to and do exact the same thing, but this time you type step2.bat

let it flash the bios, and this time it will reboot by it self.

Now push F2 and go into bios.

Make the laptop boot normal (from cd first, then hdd)

and pull out the usb and push F10 and let it reboot.

FInito.... I hope i got this right.

It's late, the time is 03:30 AM in norway.

but you have to use the biosfolder straight from clevo to do this.

If you shall use the iso file... burn it as a image to disk and you just reboot with the cd inside, then it will start by itself. remember to take out the cd after flashing bios

I will try it again, I wonder if it is because i have one of the scan disc usb cards that has software built in..

When i went into my bios it should 2 usb sticks, one i could not move up or down, and one i could. I made the movable one first and hte system just loaded into windows..

So i went back in and used the - key in bios to move everything after the other usb scan disc that was shown and it did boot to dos c:\ but i could not access anything on the stick..

Let me go try this again tomorrow :)

Are you sure this is official SAGER BIOS? I updated my np5796 without any problem (I booted from the cd and all I had to do is to press space once, and the flash program did all the rest), but instead of the SAGER logo, it is showing another logo now at boot :(

Does this have the "SAGER" logo at startup? And why is it important to load default settings?

I grabbed the one in the first post and burned it to a disc. I had no issue at all with the BIOS and still had the sager logo. I checked my BIOS on boot and it was the updated one.

I dunno what he is talking about with the default settings crap. I didnt do that at all. I just do what I normally do with a BIOS update, burn to disc and boot from disc.

I grabbed the one in the first post too...it seems kinda impossible that you have SAGER logo and I don't
dbacchus linked the same BIOS, except that the one he linked has an "s" at the end...maybe the s stands for "Sager" ?

Um, download the BIOS I posted in my original post. .09 BIOS with Sager logo... None of this weird clevo style note crap.

I had a clevo bios on my server at first. The sager bios is now online. Just redownload the link in my original post.

Dude, youre awesome! +rep for you ;)

btw, here is a REALLY interesting thing:
First I updated with Clevo's BIOS (which one you linked first)->My memory WEI stayed at 5.0 (I have 2GB DDR3 in my np5796) and I had the Clevo crap boot screen.
Now I updated to Sager's BIOS (which one you linked now) and finally I have SAGER logo at boot again. But the interesting part comes now: with this BIOS my memory score in WEI jumped to 5.9!! Weird...

(ps: I didn't touch any of the drivers)

I wonder if that has something to do with different types of RAM...
The norwegian company who sells rebranded clevo uses Elpida and Micron RAM. But clevo recommend something else - think it was samsung or something. They are sending me some of them, hoping to fix my graphics and audio issues. But I have a feeling that says it may be something wrong with the 9800M gt card or the power-"thing" inside the laptop...

But maybe it does something to my WEI-score.. hehe

My latest concern is a problem I've had since day one. When the power cable is plugged in or unplugged, about 40-50% of the time, the system hard freezes. BIOS update never fixed that. Anybody else with the same issue?

Now that you mention it, it had it twice so far (as i can remember), i thought it was because i wanted to close to many applications at the same time, and hitting the shutdown button to fast.
It just hangs, ctrl+alt+del didn't work, had to shutdown with the powerbutton.

    HI all,

I just have upgreded my BIOS, and the WEI still the same for memory 5.0 ??

Another thing, I have a external HD WD 1TB, and I have huge problem when I connect to my NP5796 via the esata prot. The OS freeze and I cannot find the HD into the OS.
I have tested the HD on another machine and it's works fine, the problem is not part on the HD.
WD support tell me that some BIOS or motherboard doesn't support HD of 1TB.
Does anyone have the same problem? or know something?

    Many thanks
    Regards
    Lionel

Installed new BIOS and WEI score for memory dropped from 5.1-5.0. Has anyone figured this out yet? My system actually seems to be running faster and smoother, but the WEI would indicate otherwise.
