    HI all,

Thanks to all you guys in the Alienware thread that helped to convince me to get the SAGER. Loving it. Got the NP9262 with a raid 5 config with 3x320gb @7200rpm drives. 4gb of ram, dual 9800mGTX cards and the wuxga screen. no blu ray or tv tuner...waste of time i thought.

Was a lil bit bigger than I thought it would have been but can overlook it. Definitely gona buy a laptop cooler though.

Has been working beautifully cept one lil prob..my first 2 days using WoW was playing on high setting and getting 52+fps but now I am getting barely 20FPS with my setting turned down. I dowlnloaded some addons but dont think it is those. Any advice?

    Addicted...

Special thanks to Sharpe62,dhoang417,an Axman...thanks for pointing me to SAGER

Arghh, I hope you're not going to say that it can't keep up the FPS's on battery power. I'm planning on getting a 9262 but need to be able to play on batteries.

Even if it don't you can alter the settings in "Power Options" to make it run at full speed on battery (Which result in very very very very, very short amount of battery life).

If the computer is on battery it will automatically decreased the speed of some components in order to save battery. In Vista there is the option to change the power plan from balanced to max performance, but I would not expect too much play time by using it on battery. On mine with Vista just watching a movie it will be around an hour or less.

Regarding the original question. If you can not solve the problem in few days, just reinstall the drivers for video and if that does not work make an install from scratch.

Welcome to the NBR forums. :)

high-end gaming notebooks CANNOT keep up their performance on battery.

the Clevo D901C may have a large 12-cell battery, but if you try to push the CPU and GPU to full load... that will get you less than 40-50 min of battery

this pretty much goes for other high-end gaming notebooks as well.

if you want some batterylife and still decent gaming, look towards a mid-range gaming notebook (with Nvidia 9600M or ATI 3650)

Not playing on battery...playing on full power...I also play crysis and that plays excellent....dunno how to get fps from it but play @1900x1200 with all settings at high and have no problems. Dunno why wow is being such a . I actually changed resolution down to 1280 x 800 and only managing 25fps...gonna uninstall addons and see if thats the cause.

I went back into Nvidia control panel and under image settings selected let 3d application decide....back up to 61fps in outlands but down to 35-41fps in original content..havent tried any of the lich king area's as yet though.

make sure the "reduce lag input" option under the video tab is not enabled as it kills frame rates. you should instal nvidia's official drivers from their website if you have not done so as it helped me with severe stuttering in the game.

you will see reduced performance in outland region and lych king expansion due to the better graphics and more populated scenery (especially in lych king) compared to the original content. if the reduce lag input option is enabled in these regions you will notice choppy gameplay.

everything was smooth as butter for me until i got to outland and then i realized i needed to disable the reduce lag input option and get nvidia's drivers to smooth things out. i also had to play in full screen mode with vsync enabled to eliminate the constant stutter i experienced when reduce lag input option was not enabled.

SLI in this game is a no-go. it either does not work or you will get severe shadow abnormailties which renders sli useless.

i also play the game with max settings.

could be the game itself that is causing the problem. un-install it and re-install

I'm very posetive that SLi is the sinner: When I'm running WoW without SLi, I get a sexy 50-60 framerate, but as soon as I enable it, I'm getting around 30. It has also been confirmed that WoW does not support SLi.

However, for the shadow flickering problem, you can fix it with nHancer:

    Download and open nHancer.
Select "World of Warcraft" on the list to the left.
In the panel to the right, click on "SLI MODE".
In the dropdown menu, select "Alternate Frame Rendering".
In the bottom-right corner of the panel, click the "AFR2".
In the "Compatibillity flags" list, untick 17 (AFK2, Colin...) and tick 24 (HL2).
Close nHancer and the shadows in WoW should no longer flicker!

here is this dammn thread. i forgot which one it was...lol

first load up i was 325fps
i enabled eveything on it's highest setting except for AA which i left off
    85 to 200 fps @1920x1200

    lowest being 85 fps

so not sure what is going on with you guys, but it should be way higher than what your getting.
