    Hello everyone,

Just picked up a NP8152-s from Xoticpc and altho i really love the unit there's something bugging me. as the title suggests my keyboard backlight color wont change. I've set the color to green and for the first few days the latop would start up in blue, i assume thats just a base color, and change to green. I then could modify it thru Flexi key to other colors yada yada like normal. After a few days however i began to notice it would not change to green after boot up. I could manually go into flex key and (it shows it as green even though it was not) play with the settings i.e. reset it, turn off, change it, a bunch and get it to switch but now it seems it will not respond no matter what. ive made sure its up to date thru windows but cant seem to find the control app in device manager, not sure what itd be called or if it would even be in there.

Anyone had this issue and found a fix? google isnt turning up much and ive looked thru this site to the best of my abilities and came up short.

thought about maybe uninstalling and reinstalling Control Center (which is in build 5.0001.0.81 btw) but wanted a second opinion

I also thought maybe i should mention that the laptop used to display on screen when i used Fn+ commands such as turning off the touchpad and even turning on caps lock but no longer does. and Fn+esc will no longer open up control center. not sure if its related but something that didnt go noticed

    Thanks,
    Mike

    Im on windows 10 btw

That is strange Mike. What's concerning is that you're reporting other control center functions going out (touchpad quick key, etc). At least the popup notification.

I'd start with what you already mentioned and reinstall the control center and ensure your Intel and Nvidia drivers are most up-to-date. I have an 8153 and the Sager drivers page has outdated drivers for my 1070 and HD 530 and I'm sure yours does too.

    Keep us updated.

Also, does FN+Backspace bring back the colors once you're logged into Win10? I think that's the main hotkey to completely enable/disable FlexiKey.

It's not a device, so won't show up there.

    Try 5.0001.0.98 here.

    Hello all,

Sry for the delay wanted to give it some time. So i went into add/remove, right clicked control center and selected modify. this brought up and menu with default feature and three "newfeature" options. one of which was not selected. i selected this as well with the others and after a restart it functioned. however, after a few restarts it went back to not working and i redid the process to fix it. after about three times it has been functioning normally since.

So as much as that seems to have resolved it i noticed that after a few restarts that third "newfeature" option is again unselected. i feel like its just coincidence that my actions have resolved the issue.

i will be updating the control center to the one provided in the meantime

    Thanks and Merry Christmas

    Maybe they goofed(?). Hmm...

What about this one? (Should be version 5.0001.0.81.)

And merry (belated) Christmas to you!

It's a service, so look for it on the 'Services' panel:

Sometimes it may not start properly, so check if it's actually running when these issues happen. And, because it's a service, you can make it restart automatically in case it happens to crash or terminate for some other unfathomable reason:

Ah of course. Makes sense that its a service. didn't even think to look there.
    Thanks

Didn't utilize it. The problem is resolved whether due to me uninstalling and installing Control Center multiple times or maybe something auto updated like a ninja (i have windows update disabled).

if it come up again I'll check it out though
