Hello everyone. New to the forums but have owned multiple Sagers over the years.

I don't have any experience with Optimus and being forced to use integrated GPU's. With current drivers and maturity of the tech, how well does Optimus function/perform?

Also regarding the audio output via HDMI and Displayport. Do the nVidia "HD Audio" drivers need to be installed to work correctly, or is this done via Intels GPU drivers in conjuction with Realtek?

Also what is the proper way to set up Optimus? Do I install the Intel GPU drivers first and then nVidia, or the other way around?

    Hi areyoutalkingtome, welcome to NBR!
Optimus does a good job. Since its been around for a few years Nvidia has had a chance to work out most bugs in it.
For driver installation you want to do the Intel first then Nvidia ones.

Audio is going to be adequate for gaming, but it's not going to satisfy an Audiophiles ears in the least. If sound is important to you, I'd invest in a nice pair of headphones or some external speakers.

I was referring to my original question.

"Also regarding the audio output via HDMI and Displayport. Do the nVidia "HD Audio" drivers need to be installed to work correctly, or is this done via Intels GPU drivers in conjuction with Realtek?"

You will need to have the HD Audio drivers to be installed to have the HDMI audio to work correctly.
