My new NP9262 arrived and I'm currently in the process of installing Mandriva Linux on it. It has 3 320GB hard drives in RAID 0, but when partitioning in the Linux installation menu it shows each drive as separate. I've never done anything with RAID before, and is it normal to see 3 320GB volumes when running in RAID 0? I was under the impression it would show up as one 960GB volume. Any ideas about this?
    Thanks.

Congrats on the new system~ :)

It should show up under one volume if it's running RAID-0. I think you can set it via the BIOS or RAID setup, but then again I've never used Linux nor had a RAID able system :p

Raid 0 will do only 2 of the drives not 3. Did you order the Raid to begin with?

I selected the RAID 0 option when buying it (got it from powernotebooks.com).
The RAID configuration in the BIOS shows all three drives combined into one RAID drives, so I think RAID 0 does work just fine across 3 drives.
I'm brand new to Linux so I may be doing something wrong that's not recognizing the RAID configuration. I'm going to try installing just XP for now and see if Windows will recognize it.

RAID like this isn't real RAID (as in RAID controller card), it is handled by the processor and the chipset. Because of this, you need to install the linux device mapper, and dmraid plugin. I am not familair with Mandriva, but you might find more info n a wiki/forum board about installing onto a RAID device.

You'll probably have a lot more luck posting over in the linux forum, even with questions that seem to be Clevo/Sager-specific.
