Interesting! I'll give 'em a shot when I get home, see if there's any massive performance gains on my lightning fast 8400M GS.
If I can't play Crysis @ 1920 on super high settings, I shall blame you, and you alone, Blacky. -
-
finally, a new 190 driver to replace the really outdated 180 series. errr... where's GTX285M and GT300M?
-
Slightly improved my Vantage score. I will wait for the WHQL release to update my sign.
-
I've been using 186.81 mobile version so stupid question but there's no difference in the desktop and mobile versions? -
-
Unfortunately this driver causes my system to crash into a dxgkrnl.sys BSOD on start. Had to boot into safe mode, remove the driver and reinstall the previous one.
-
i installed the new beta driver on my m570tu and wanted to run 3d mark vantage.
but 3d mark vantage stopped working since i installed the new driver
maybe vantage only works with whql drivers?
greetings flode -
Works fine for me. I really like the drivers until now.
-
i tried reinstalling vantage still the same problem i realy think it has something to do with the new driver because before i installed it vantage worked
-
Yeah Vantage crashes on me with these drivers as well. But considering they work really well in-game, i wont worry about synthetic benchmarks.
-
Stop giving a crap about 3dmark. That's not how you test a driver's performance.
I've been playing Borderlands and Torchlight all day and night, with no issues. -
I haven't completed my testing with it but a few of the 200 bug fixes mention in the notes on the download page seem to have been World of warcraft bugs. I have noticed that with the new beta drivers i can kick my graphics back up to max(at native resolution) and play smoothly even with full shadows. Before I had to kick things down to medium for some reason to maintain smooth frame rates (at native resolution). I have not had any problems so far out of the drivers.

Hello there, I'm having issues with this driver, I got a BSOD after installing this drivers. I'm installing the windows7 64 version and my GPU is the 8800m GTX, if somebody know how to solve this issue I will be glad to know, cause I'm hearing lots of goods things about this new ones.
-
hi , I have toshiba x300 9800m GTX and doesnt instal this driver , write isnt compatible with current driver , i have trouble with 186xx driver , i must have new driver , thanks
-
Just download the modded inf from laptopvideo2go.
-
please give me the link , i download for notebook beta
-
Click on the link appropriate for your operating system and than chose modified info from the menu on top. -
so remind me how to do this again? i download the driver from the nvidia site and the inf from laptopvideo2go, and then what? do i need to download the physx driver as well? -
Ok, what you do is you unpack the newly downloaded driver in a any folder of choice. Copy over it the modded inf. And than run setup. -
Thanks for the tip guys, but I tried with the modded file and I'm still getting the BSOD, it's a quit weird issue but I readed that other people is getting the same problem as well.
-
Just wait for the official WHQL release, these are still beta drivers so some bugs are to be expected.
-
Tried it...full of bugs. Got several BSODs...
-
I went back to 186.81, because games kept running when I alt-tabbed.
-
It brings noticeable changes, but suffers from glitches. Specifically, with 186.61 HDTV resizing didnot create a new resolution altogether like this driver does. Consequently, I can't use my TV's native 1080p resolution. Back to 186.61...
-
They are still in beta...
-
Well, I dislike that I can't create custom resolutions, but my lag/latency issues are gone and I'm afraid that changing will bring them back. I'll deal for now.
-
For the people experiencing BSODS - make sure you use driver sweeper in safe mode before you install the new driver. The last time i had that problem, i solved it that way.
Trying out the new drivers now -
ok, as always i hate the stupid Nvidia installer.
did a driver sweep, installed the new driver. And you know what?
ITS STUPID FAST. honestly the FPS in crysis warhead were so high I had to double check that everything was on enthusiast with vsync on and 16xQ AA.
Reverting back to my usual play settings (enthusiast+4xAA) felt like my laptop wasn't even trying.
To make sure I tried FEAR 2 and Prototype as well. completely blew my mind. -
I haven't had a single BSOD, so I don't know what others problem is. I didn't even uninstall the previous driver first.
-
I don't know why it affects only certain machines. Before I figured out the problem (crap invidia installer creating multiple copies) and installed driver sweeper I did exactly what you did and my notebook would crash quite often.
-
Same here. Just double clicked the installer. Didn't even have to reboot the PC (god bless windows 7) and gratis performance boost in borderlands! -
-
Will be doing a clean install when my 8690 comes in since I ordered it with no hard drive. Will post my findings as soon as I can.
-
I usually do the whole Driver Sweeper bit, but truth be told, it doesn't make a difference to me, and I'm tired of the tedious repetition for a simple driver install.
