So, I have my new P370EM with GTX 680M SLI and my Windows Experience Index in Win 8 x64 is only 6.8 with Nvidia 310.90 driver

What would your recommendations be to optimize and tune-up the things?

    Next question:
I am used to Home and End buttons, on Clevo I now have these buttons combined with Page Up and Page Down. How do I switch so I could use both purposes of these buttons?

    Other question:
On the left side of the notebook thereSPDIF-OUT jack input with red light coming.
How do I disable that red light?

I will have more questions coming later.

    Im happy to help.

1.) for optimization, you need to give us your hardware details and specs
2.) switching between the functions is when you press and hold the Fn button and then press these buttons.
3.) you can disable the red laser easy:
right click on the volume icon on the taskbar
    -> playback devices
-> right click on the list and press "show disconnected" and "show disabled"
-> then disable digital out (or SPIDIF, depends on its name).

If that deoesent work, using the Realtek Control Panel (if you installed the Realtek drivers), disable digital out from there.

    I hope I helped.

Thank you, i fixed the SPDIF thing and now I know how to switch the home/end buttons, didn't think it's done with Fn key :)

    My system is the following:
17.3" 120Hz Matte Full HD LED Widescreen (1920x1080)
    Intel® Core™i7 Quad Core Mobile 3840QM (2.8) 8MB
    16GB SAMSUNG 1600MHz SODIMM DDR3 MEMORY (2 x 8GB)
    2 x NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 680M - 4.0GB DDR5 Video RAM - DirectX® 11
Creative Sound Blaster® X-Fi™ Surround 5.1 PRO External
    Killer Wireless-N 1202 (with Bluetooth)
    Samsung 830 SSD
    Windows 8 x64

    To continue with questions:
I am now downloading Soundblaster driver from Clevo site to install. Once installed, Should I uninstall Realtek drivers?

Other question, the fingerprint reader. I have installed the driver and Authentec TrueSuite software, but when i Open it and Login to it I cannot find where/how to create/store my fingerprint data to login to Windows :(

One more: Do I need Intel Rapid Storage Technology installed and running, if i'm using just one SSD disk?

Soundblaster MB2 is just an API, what it does is it optimizes the sound processed by realtek chip's hardware acceleration, so you'll still need the Realtek driver installed. By the way the soundblaster package downloaded from Clevo site has nothing to do with the Creative Sound Blaster® X-Fi™ Surround 5.1 PRO External.

Oops, i meant i have the following:
Sound Blaster® X-Fi MB 2 High Definition Audio, not the external one :)

Hmm, OK, but i now installed the Creative SBX-Fi MB2 AP (1.04.01) for Windows 8 that I downloaded from Clevo site with all the modules it had, but none of the soundblaster software load for me, it says "device not detected"...
What the heck is going on?

One more question: how do I make the numlock On on Windows8 boot up, so it is On when i am entering windows login password?

You need to activate it, I haven't tried Windows 8 before but it should be "C:\Program Files (x86)\Creative\THX TruStudio Pro\ActMgr\CTActMgr.exe". Not sure about the 2nd question though.

@hackness, Thank you, I activated Soundblaster, rebooted, but nothing else has changed, no new tray icons or such, sound volume manager is still the same in tray icons pace, is it normal?

@bobiman, there is no such thing in BIOS, i have checked twice. But i found a Windows8 workaround for that in google, to edit one key's value in regedit and it works fine.

Once you guys or somebody else has time, please answer questions regarding fingerpring reader and Intel rapid storage. Thanks

You need to have Realtek Audio Driver 2.70 or later.
It needs to be installed BEFORE installing the Creative MB2 software.

I dont use the fingerprint reader.

I dont use Intel Rapid Storage driver (despite owning an Intel SSD).

Will try reinstalling audio drivers once i'm back to the notebook
I'm downloading 64bit_Vista_Win7_Win8_R270.exe Realtek driver from http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads...=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false if that's what you meant.

So, I will uninstall soundblaster, reinstall Realtek driver, install soundblaster again. What will change? Will Sounblaster add the 5.1 goodness and FX only or there will be different menus and control panels in system tray?

So what about the low windows experience index score for 680M SLI?

I wouldn't care too much about the experience index so long as your games are running good. Get one of the 3Dmarks and compare your scores with others with similar configs to ensure you're getting the right performance.

I agree with everyone else here on the subject of the WEI. Lean more on your experience with the performance, and not with the WEI rating. After all, you've got a 680m SLI setup; that 6.8 rating it gave you should be a pretty good indication that it is next to clueless. ;)

By the way I'm quite interested in the temperature of your 2nd GTX 680M, could you try playing any demanding games with Sli enabled and monitor using HWINFO64 (Max temp)? Thanks!

    2 more questions:

    1. When i click on Fn+F4 - the sleep button, nothing happens. If i go to Fn+Esc and click on Sleep button, i get an option to select from hibernate and sleep. How do i set the Fn+F4 to go to sleep?
    ?
    2. to go back to the Home and End buttons combined with Page Up and Page Down, can i remap the functionality some way so i would need to use Fn key for Page Up and Page Down instead of Home and End?

Google for some information about key remapping.

Have you installed the power suite from Clevo? Im pretty sure it has some shortcuts for sleep.

Yes I installed power suite, i need to make 3 clicks to go to sleep, one to open it, other, to click on sleep and then pick sleep or hibernate. So it's no good.
    The Fn+F4 doesn't make any action :(
