Hi guys. I just received my new P775DM3-G from HIDEvolution with the Prema BIOS. Pulled out of the box, started up and I haven't made it past the settings pages. The loop goes like this:
    This page
    [IMG]
Then the Wifi connection page. The first time through I entered the Wifi password, now it doesn't ask for it
    [IMG]
Then this page, where I select "use express settings" I've also tried selecting "customize" and clicking through, but with no change.
Then the computer restarts and sends me back to "hi there"

Since it's Saturday HIDevolution is closed, otherwise I'm sure Donald would help me out, as he has through the entire process. Can anyone provide assistance? I've shut down and restarted a couple times and I have it connected to the power supply, if that makes any difference. Thanks for your help!

This might be a solution. I've done this on a Win7 setup that was giving me fits.
Disable network devices, turn off, wiFi and/or unplug network cable.
Remove any USB devices plugged in, keyboard, mouse, printer, USB drives.

After doing these things, I had a successful install to work with. I added back the keyboard, mouse, and configured the network all separately, one at a time.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm unable to turn off wifi since I can't access anything but the setup screens. I tried "skip this step" on wifi but with no change. No USB devices are plugged in.

Can you turn off networking in BIOS?
Have you tried going with a wired connection.
WinX is a strange beast. I only have one desktop running it, everything else I have is running Win7.

I've only ever entered BIOS on a computer that used F12, didn't realize that wasn't universal. It's F2 on this one, but anyway I got to BIOS and I'm looking for networking. I may be able to try a wired connection, but it did say it was connected to my wireless network. Thanks again, I'll update.

The only difference a wired connection made was that the wireless setup screen was skipped. Disabling wireless didn't change anything either.
Anything I'm finding online involves re installing windows which isn't an option at this point either. Thanks again for the suggestions.

I've read some posts say that it works after a couple of reboots. If not, I'm afraid your best bet is to clean install from an USB drive.

    Sorry I couldn't help. :(
I can't imagine how you feel right now. I'd be pretty upset with a high dollar laptop that won't load up right out of the box. I'm positive HID will make it right, but it probably ruined your weekend.

If you have a sticker or documentation with your Win key, I think you can still download a Win10 iso. from Microsoft for free.
<edit> You'd probably still need the EVOC drivers though.

@Donald@HIDevolution is a sales rep, not a technical rep / support rep. You will need to either create a ticket over at HIDEvolution or give them a call on Monday. OR just reinstall windows on your own.
And if Windows was activated by HIDE before, you can just install it without a key, and it will activate automatically.

True that. :) It looks like a driver problem though.
Windows is looking for something it can't find. GPU drivers are notorious for gumming up the works. I don't know anything about the Prema BIOS. He might be able to set discreet Intel graphics if isn't already to bypass the GPU card. Just a thought. :vbconfused:

Yes, HIDevolution Tech Support is closed...but reach out to @Phoenix for the simple fix. It is a Windows OOBE bug...it takes a few seconds, and does not require a fresh install.

If you're still waiting on Phoenix, you can try the following:

Turn Secure Boot off in BIOS

If that doesn't work, press Ctrl+Shift+F3 during the last screen and the system will reboot in Audit Mode. Don't close the sysprep window. See if Windows installs any updates to the drivers. Then reboot into OOBE mode from the sysprep window and see if setup continues.

This. Just enter sysprep mode again then exit it once more. This is a Windows bug in the Redstone 1 ISOs

I turned off secure boot and have entered sysprep mode multiple times now. I have seen no evidence of downloading drivers, but I was prompted to update one drive which it appears was successful.

In the system preparation tool under "system cleanup action" I have tried selecting both "enter system audit mode" and "Enter system OOBE". After rebooting I am right back in the same loop as before. What's my next move or what am I missing here?

Thanks everyone for the input and suggestions so far!

leave it on Enter OOBE mode but under Shutdown options, instead of reboot, change that to QUIT

then wait for a few seconds you should see a popup Window saying cleaning up, then reboot and try again

I did everything as you said and I'm getting the same loop as before. It's asking me to select a wireless network every attempt now, whereas before it would remember the one I had chosen. Just noting that in case it is somehow helpful.

    Any other ideas?

Make a Windows 10 USB installation disk and do a clean install. Then install the Obsidian-PC Driver Update utility and you're all set. Should take about 30 minutes overall.

I was really hoping to avoid that but I guess it's time to give in. One thing I'm not clear on is what's going to be different with a new install vs the current one? What keeps me from going back to the same loop?

Once again thank you for the help.

    Did you try Startup Repair?

Press Shift+F10 on the Setup screen. You should get a Repair option. If not try this

While you're in the Setup, turn off the laptop forcefully by holding the power button. Do this 3 times and you should get to Startup Repair.

Another thing you could try is manually run OOBE from

    C:\Windows\System32\oobe\Msoobe.exe

That's all I can think of for now.

you have to Enter System Audit mode then check the GENERALIZE button then in the drop down list below, choose quit.

that will properly clear out all the sysprep mode junk and exit in a clean slate to the welcome setup screen

I can't think @Phoenix enough for helping me out with this! The troubleshooting help saved the day and then he gave my laptop all the custom tweaks while he was at it.
@Rynaus I appreciate your help as well!
