I received a Sager NP7879PQ-S (Clevo NH77HPQ) maybe a week and a half ago. Generally I'm pretty happy with it (and was happy w/ the other Clevo this one is replacing that I got a few years ago—although I had to replace the keyboard every 1.5 years or so)
... except that the keyboard on this is total garbage.
When I first touched the keys I was surprised by how cheap they felt; really low-quality, thin plastic, loose, shallow keys barely holding onto whatever's keeping them in place. I can get over that; it's just a tactile preference I guess.
But then every 15 minutes a random key is held down. I don't mean that the key itself is stuck—I mean that the signal is being sent continuously. e.g., I'll scroll through a YouTube video using the right-arrow, and all of a sudden it'll stop working because the "Ctrl" key nearest to the arrows is suddenly registered as being held down. Or, I'll tap the "u" key (to undo) and all of a sudden the "6" key registers as being held down. When it's a key like Fn, while I'm in the middle of typing, I end up opening a bunch of random windows and settings.
It's pretty disappointing.
Anyway, is there a replacement keyboard I can get somewhere whose quality doesn't suck? I can't RMA this laptop; my last one **** the bed (power-jack broke on the MB; common problem in laptops in general) and I need it for work (my first one dying was a disaster), so I can't afford to wait 2 weeks to get the keyboard replaced w/ another crappy one.
(Now that I think of it, I got my last Sager in early 2019... that's not very long ago; I didn't notice because I was itching for a new one. Have I given Sager/Clevo too much credit here? I might have to return this and get a better-quality laptop >.<)

There are no 3rd party alternatives. Maybe the reseller can ship a replacement? If it's a direct from us machine speak to support via our website.
