Nice post. That is going to be a beautiful laptop. I am going to get a new one later this year, I want the Merom with SLI. I am going to have to trade in my car to get it. :p

That beast looks like the 5720 on steroids. At 14+ pounds, you'll need a few shots of Dianobol to lug it around.

You can't tell just how huge it is from those pics.. We need it next to something for some reference... they need to put it next to a standard 14" so it looks hugemongous. heheh
Or at least next to a current 5720 or 5320.

Find a good chiropractor before buying!

    Here's the tale-of-the-tape on the 5950:

    14.55 lbs. With Battery
    18.7”(w) x 13.5”(d) x 1.2” ~ 1.9” (h)

    It's a BIG boy!

Wow, that's even heavier than a 9750. But, it is a bit slimmer, the 9750 is a little over 2" thick.

Anyone buying this machine isn't going to take it anywhere but the occasional LAN party - I certainly wouldn't. I'm sure this product will find its niche in the market.

Being a total noob: Is the turion processor AMD's equivalent of the pentium m? BEcause you would think they would use one of the athalons.

Yes, you would be correct-a-mundo. The AMD Turion processor is essentially a low-power version of the AMD Athlon 64. It is a direct competitor to Intel's Pentium M.
