A new NP6350, ordered from sagernotebook.com, arrived today and the build quality is sub-par, to put it lightly. The primary HDD cover wasn't attached properly and as a consequence one of the catches on the cover itself was broken off and a small crack formed on the bottom of the laptop body at the corner of the drive bay, presumably from the stress of having the cover improperly jammed into it.
Additionally the speaker grille/LED cover above the keyboard wasn't completely attached (it clicked down into place when I pushed on it) and even after clicking into place it is bumpy and not flush with the rest of the body.
Finally the body itself seems slightly warped. If I lay it on a hard flat surface the front left leg is lifted slightly in the air and the whole thing wobbles like a table with uneven legs.
From what I've read about Sager this isn't a typical situation, what I'm more concerned about is what kind of response can I expect from Sager's support? Will I be able to easily get a replacement, or can I expect a runaround and to never really be satisfied?
Ideally I'd like the system replaced with one that doesn't look like it was assembled by someone for practice, my rush order fee refunded, and to not have to pay any more shipping for the process. Is this reasonable?

no i think you should be able to get a RMA easily, since its arrived broken, given the crack. also isnt it cheaper to buy from resellers? you would have to talk to them about rush fee
-
Yeah, agreed about the resellers. It was only my googling around after receiving the laptop that led me here and, in turn, to the resellers that carry them though. So, shame on me for that one.
I just want this to go smoothly at this point. -
Would suggest it's much more likely to be shipping damage than anything else. The whole laptop sounds like it is off kilter.

Agreed, it does sound a bit like shipping damage. Does warranty cover this? Should be able to get things sorted if it does.

People don't realize, that shipping companies are not gentle with their packages. When you package something, you're supposed to package it so that if dropped from about 4 FT on a counter, the item needs to survive that drop. They don't place it gently in trucks, they throw them in trucks first. Then once in truck they sort it. They throw them around on conveyor belts at the airport etc. It's not gentle. And I wouldn't be surprised if some UPS employees are less caring than others about your package.

was the box damaged when you signed for it? ive heard of shipping damage before but all the boxes were damaged on corners or such like.
contact sager support first thing tomorrow and ask for a rma immediately. take photos and load them onto desktop.
other option i guess you have is you can return and cancel your order and then buy from one of the resellers > http://forum.notebookreview.com/sager-clevo/656776-ask-resellers-questions-reseller-thread.html but of course this will add a few weeks before you get a working laptop again. -
