I just got a new Sager NP9262 Core 2 Quad 2.66Ghz. It seems to have a problem though. One of the features it has is the ability to turn off the backlight of the LCD. This is done by pressing Fn+F2. However, the backlight of the LCD randomly turns off, without pushing Fn+F2. I have noticed that this problem seems to only happen when the laptop is plugged in and used for a little while. So when this happens I have to push Fn+F2, then push Fn or F2 and the LCD will then come back on. If I unplug the laptop and run on the battery, this problem goes away. This laptop has 4GB of RAM, two 200GB HDDs (Not in RAID, on one HDD with Vista x64 Home Premium, and the other HDD with WinXP x64), and one 8800m GTX. Anyone have any ideas?

Offhandedly, I've noticed that one of the issues on this model that gets posted on is problems with the cable from the motherboard to the LCD being loose - although that wouldn't explain the difference between on- and off- battery. Do you get any symptomatic behaviour if you move the screen back and forth?

Hey guys, thanks for the replies. The screen seems to be fine with movement, I don't think its a loose conection. I wonder if there is a heat issue with the videocard?

Unfortunately, that's not proof-positive that there isn't a problem with the cable. :( Check your GPU temps as dexgo suggests (he seems to be the resident GPU-genius, so he knows whereof he speaks), and if that doesn't help at all, maybe try pm'ing gophn (he of the Clevo/Reseller FAQ fame), he may be able to give you better advice/suggestions.

How do I find the temperature of the GPU? Also CPUz reports my motherboard as a Clevo D900C Rev.D, I thought this was suppose to be a D901C?
