Hi I just noticed a new driver for the gtx680m uploaded on 08/17/12 at the main clevo website( CLEVO - Download), has anyone tried this? And if so, how was your experience with it?

"Well with version 2 while it installs on the 680M (with optimus) it never actually uses the 680M, no matter if I say use the 680M for everything or if I individually choose programs." - Meaker

"304.79 is not a stable release for the 680M :(

Means we have to fall back to 302.77."

Edited by Meaker, Yesterday, 08:39 PM.

Since the Sager(reseller) gave me the 302.77 driver in a CD, and the new one that's from the main clevo website is 302.92, does that mean it is better?

It means it's newer, not necessarily better. I think I'm going to wait for someone else to guinea pig this one before I mess with my drivers - 302.77 is working very nicely for me atm

304.79 crashes in crysis 2 and the new counterstrike at least.

The new clevo driver works, but is not any faster than the original.

The new drivers on laptop2video , the 305.68 don't crash in crysis 2 but maybe it might just be because im on a p150HM

Has anybody out there played during the Guild Wars 2 stress tests using a 680m? If so, what were your utilization and FPS ranges? Thanks.

Both 302.71 and 304.79 causes GPU driver to crash when playing FFXIV, the same thing happen to the desktop GTX 680 like in this video (go to 14:18 to see the issue):

I'm getting my GTX 680M back next week from RMA (finally), will try if the new drivers still crashes :D

I can never get any drivers other than the ones that came on the CD with my laptop (302.71) to install. I'll try again and take some screenshots to show you what I mean.

The following pictures show these steps:
I try just using setup.exe, which of course fails (this is expected from laptopvideo2go).
I then use the have disk method and my graphics card (Nvidia Geforce GTX 680M) doesn't appear in the list.
I pick the 670, because they are similar - installation tells me I have the wrong version of windows.

I don't understand the wrong windows error, since I did download the Windows 7 x64 version, and am positive of this. I'm also sure I'm running Windows 7 64-bit, as I have 16GB of RAM, all detected, so it can't be 32-bit.

OEM drivers do work fine, but artificially lower performance (~500 points in 3DMark11 for me). I was getting about 7.1k with my overclock on the 304.79 drivers, but they were rather unstable in some games. I switched back to the 302.71 drivers that came installed and now I can't use anything else. I can't even reinstall the 304.79 drivers using the same method that worked before. Can anyone explain this?

Yes, and I've discovered that my computer THINKS windows 8 is installed, for as far as installing GTX 680M drivers goes. My Computer still reports Win 7 x64, but I can install any Windows 8 x64 drivers without a hitch, while no other ones work.

im not sure but if youve tried and loaded some windows 8 drivers then that could be causing the conflict and the only way to clear it is a re install of windows 7 operating ystem.
    just a guess though

By the way in 305.67 for the Optimus part the application check no longer powers on the dGPU, instead it only powers on the dGPU when the application that's launched was assigned to the dGPU. In 302.71 every time the application check is carried out, the dGPU will be powered on. With 305.67 you should have a longer battery life than the stock drivers when surfing websites.

How are you gents installing this? The full package? Or is it like with the 7970m where you just select the graphics driver. I really don't feel like going through the nightmare of driver installation after my previous experimentation with Enduro notebooks (blue-screening, black-screening, freezes).

At least this means an official driver isn't too far off.

no worries just remove the nvidia stuff from add/remove programs, then restart and install the new driver which will install all needed components. It been working well for me for years.

I dont trust driver sweeper anymore in switchable graphics systems. always deletes something it shouldnt
