    Hi All,

I am replacing the original hard drive (WD Scorpio 320GB with a WD Scorpio 500GB) but have run into a problem.

Basically, the new drive connector doesn't appear to fit.

This is the original drive and you can see how the connector on the drive falls into place with the connector on the motherboard:

This is the new drive placed the same way round as the old one and you can see the pins from the drive cannot 'connect' with the motherboard connector due to being 'blocked' by the plastic in the way.

Flipping the drive around results in the drive connector not fitting the motherboard connector due to the lack of horizontal space:

Am I doing something wrong?

    Thanks.

You must take off the connector from the other HDD and put it on your new HDD.

Pull it off. It can be a little tricky.

Eivind is correct, the connector on the old HDD is an adapter for the clevo motherboard, it just pulls off.
