    Well gang,

I finally persevered through my shipping problems, and today I assembled my new laptop! It seems like such a long time that I've been researching, pondering and planning, but now I am finally ONE OF YOU. Check the sig for the specs.

I installed XP this afternoon. It seemed to me that many of the device drivers weren't loaded by default (e.g. ehternet card, pci, audio, etc.). However, once I put in the driver CD, everything came together. I'm planning on dual-booting Vista Ultimate. Once Vista matures, I'm going to pick a Linux distro to replace XP.

I downloaded the Notebook Hardware Control utility, and I was blown away! What a neat app! I love the semi-translucent dashboard that pops up on the right side of the display.

Well, back to the grind. Gotta keep configuring/loading/tweaking!

    congrats on the new notebook.

    tell us how it goes.

Note: I noticed your Sig saying:
it should be Clevo M570U-A or just Clevo M570U... same thing really

the Clevo M570A was a discontinued model with a Pentium M.

Its not a big deal, but more of an FYI for you.
