That's a nice cooler-but the 5760 looks to be quite a bit wider than it can accommodate. :(

Yeah but the 5760 feets are like 2 inches inside the edges :).

    k:
    Pad 308(L) X 330(W) X 40(H) mm

    5760: 397(W) x 294(D) x 22 till 44(H)mm

Mmmm right, maybe the pad is not wide enough. What would be nice is the laptop to lay completely flat on the pad, the pad being inside the laptop legs. I'll try to measure the space inside the legs tonight, as am I using it at this precise moment lol.

I suppose that once you look at it that way, it might work. :)

Looks like a solid substitute for the Kensington one.

Ok, I flipped my 5760 over and took some measures. My calculations (hum - makes it more scientific) tells me that the 2 front feet will be sit completely on the pad. As for the back feet, 50% of them will be nicely sit. This should provide a quite solid base as the back feet are fairly large.

Now lets try to find that thing :).

I'll wait for the Logitech Alto with the built in keyboard. In the interim, the Pacific Sea Breeze will do...

That link worked earlier today when we posted the news bits and the cooler was in stock. It is no longer in stock, so the link changed. It is now correct.

Thanks for the links though. I'll see if some ship to Canada :). I am usually smart enough finding new hardware pieces, but in canada we usually get new stuff a little later :(. I am working my internet contacts right now lol.

Wonder why NewEgg "deactivated" it? why not just list it as "Out of Stock"?

Hehe, should be in Montreal Nov 16. I have on hold :).

In the meantime, I know it's not the place (do we have a "classified" section here?) but I have one APC notebook stand available. I use one at work, but at home my desk is already to high for it to be comfortable, even at lowest setting. It's model without USB hub. Brand new, original packaging. PM me! Do a search for APC here and you'll find pics!

Ah here you go, I did the search.

I'm new to laptops (as this Sager is my first laptop and I only got it a few weeks ago).

Should I consider getting one of these cooler stands?

Thibault, for a brand new Sager i would say no. I have run FEAR and HL2 and my temps stay pretty cool. Of course i do use the higher fan setting but that is what it is for. My new 5760 doesnt seem to need another cooler....

Nah don't worry most of us are gadget lovers lol. I'm just hoping this will allow the 5760 to not trigger fans at higher speeds. At work the temperature are cold enough so the RAM fan doesn't kick off. But at home it's a little more hot and the RAM fan kicks in even when not playing a game.

Yup and if i ever start overclocking ill have one of these in a heart beat. For now i dont see the need of the ependiture. Especially after i bought this new 5760 which wasnt exactly cheap. =)

    Hi guys got mine yesterday!

It's a keeper! The 5760 fits perfectly! I can feel a nice and fresh flow from all around the undersides. All of the 5760 feets make a solid contact with the cooler, so the 5760 is held in place quite solidly. The aluminium is quite cold so the air passing trough it is nicely refreshed.

I did not test it while playing, but never the RAM fan went on while using the laptop for file transfer.

Oh yeah, the coller is near dead silent when fans are used from low to medium speed. It's barely audible when set at full spin.

Not your very portable solution, but quite nice nonetheless.

I'll try to find some time for an extensive review next week.

What direction to the fans flow? Does it draw air down to the bottom of the cooler or push air up from the bottom?

For laptops where the CPU air intake is on the bottom, notebook coolers with the air direction facing downward do not seem to work so well.

    woah. thread resurrection.

I actually went on to buy one of these. Works just fine.
the fans suck in air from the back and blow upward into the laptop.

this cooler isn't super powerful, but it definitely helps.

Here is a review of a Titan four fan pad that is adjustable, but has not reached the States for sale as yet.

    http://benchmarkreviews.com/index.p...task=view&id=32&Itemid=1&limit=1&limitstart=1

    http://www.titan-cd.com/eng/fanpad/g4t.htm

280 x 280 x 20 and extends to 390. It looks like it will do the job. It comes with two lengths of feet, for an adjustment of height. Maybe two short in the front and two long at the rear will allow for a comfortable canting. Also, maybe the two pockets inboard can accept two additional ThermalTake Fans for added cooling.

Have you used it with the 590RU/NP5790 in your sig?

If you're curious about how it performs with the 5790, I put up some impressions and benchmarks of it in my review (link in the sig).

I just ordered one of these a few days ago, it's coming in tomorrow :p

My old targus chill mat is on it's last legs anyway, and doesn't really fit the np5790 too well. Plus, I think I'm really going to like the tilt this gives to the keyboard.

I have one of these as well. I really didn't notice much of a difference between my zalman setup and my old setup--Four square carpet protectors, that you would put under the legs of a heavy dresser or something, that raised the laptop about an inch off the desk. My GPU still runs at around 54C when under heavy load. But I prefer the zalman because of the air circulation. BTW, my GPU is overclock and my CPU is undervolted.
