Hey guys. Im getting a new laptop in a month or two (just need to get the money together). Im pretty set on the P150SM. I was just wondering how often Clevo update their line. Is there anything worth waiting for on the horizon, an updated model maybe? Ive read about those new intel CPU's coming out but apparently they might not be out until after the summer?

Early next year would be my bet, so yeah a bit of a wait.

A year is quite a long time to wait. Can anyone chime in on whether or not they think next year's upgrade will be worth the wait?

I understand no one can really say for sure. Since the next generation of gaming consoles have been released recently, I figured PC gaming requirements might spike in the next few years.

If you can cope for now yes because it's a proper new generation.

The new GPU Maxwell architecture under the new fabrication process will be worth the wait. On the CPU end, it's uncertain what sort of gains are to be had with Broadwell. It's not a new architecture, but a die shrink. That being said, the gains probably won't be big on the processor upgrade.

Yeah. Maxwell is definitely worth waiting for. Intel is anybody's guess. They usually bring some kind of gains but forget to tell they're going to bring the heat. In a bad way. And clevo's usually upgrade every year. Sometimes there's a mid cycle refresh for tpu's, and I think there has been refreshed CPU's, but more often it'll be GPU. For example my laptop gpu in signature got a slight upgrade about a month after I bought it. 555m I believe. I think there are quite a few peeps waiting on maxwell. Nvidia needs to step on it.

Intel is never worth waiting for, it's nice incremental changes that are not worth worrying over.

The 2760QM is still a decent CPU for instance where as the 560M is showing its age much more.
