The one in your pic goes to the plug socket, and the other end goes in the adapter.Just make sure the end that goes in the adapter has enough pins :D

    right now im confused.

so the one you showed for the european one, does one side connect to the adaptor and the other side conenct to the wall socket?

i might just go for the converter thing to convert the plug from USA to UK :D

Ok best explanation I can give you : the metal parts go in the outlet, the black , covered with isolation plastic goes in the power adapter(or brick ,if you may).
Count the # of pins required to go IN THE adapter, and when you into the store, tell them that your power adapter has that # of pins.
Somebody with a D901C should be able to say if it`s 3 or pins in the power adapter.
    But I think it`s 3 pins...

Well, the adapter(power brick) is auto-sensitive,and will adapt the required wattage corespondingly. You could use that, but it`s annoying to have so many attachments.
I don`t know how many pins the UK has in the power outlets, but from that picture I take it it`s 3 right?
So you need a cable with 3 iron pins to go in the outlet and (insert number here) of pins to go in the adapter(3 in my case,as my picture showed) .

Do you have Argos in your area?
If you have then you can just buy one of those http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/9827590/Trail/searchtext%3ETRAVEL+ADAPTER.htm

This is not the cheapest but it works with plugs from nearly all other countries, too.
Just go to some local shops in the town centre and ask for "travel adapters"

I also found this one http://www.cybermarket.co.uk/ishop/923/shopscr6357.html

You can also check the electronics sections of Woolworths, Wilkinson or even ASDA.
Just ask an employee and they will help you out.

    Hope this helps!

But he doesn`t need to lug another piece of equipment, he just needs the cable that I told him about, and replace the one that is used for the US.
So if you say the D901C adapter has 3 holes (triangle shaped) it will need a cord with 3 pins for the outlets(meaning 3 metal ends) and 3 pin-isolation material head to go into the power adapter.
I am running out of explanations here :D

Where`s nirvana to tell me to stop posting? :D
I already posted like 100 times today.
@ArmageddonAsh , you`ll just have to wait for the D901C to arrive.
In the meantime, get a US to UK power ADAPTOR, it should be what @chrisvolker sugested.

ArmageddonAsh.......wow........dude, it's a power cord. You don't even know if you will need a new one yet. Do you have a computer now somewhere? If you do, odds are it has the same power cord the laptop will use (pending it is not hardwired into the computer). Just wait till you get the lappy in your hands and you will see.

Sorry, still amazed at all the previous posts.....Eleron911, do you have any hair left?

All those posts about how to plug something into a wall outlet.........

ArmageddonAsh, just seen your post on our forum......it's just a bog standard "kettle plug" you need, technically it's a 13 to IEC. 13 as in 13A and IEC is the general name of the socket.

with the 3 day delivery it was just over $2,100.
the warrenty is the only worry i have, and how much it would cost to send it back to get fixed but after hearing from chrisvolker who has just got his (from RAMBO29) im confident that it will be okay and i will just be EXTRA careful with it once i get it :D
