    Hello, hello!
I was wondering if anyone here had info (specs, release date) on the next high end (read 9262 model) Clevo pc. Because I believe it doesn't have esata, ddr3 ram support, etc...

    Thanks

Unknown, no replacement model in Clevo's Roadmap.... since the system still remains king.

But even if they were to release a replacement model, we would not see it for sale for a whole year.... like Q3-Q4 2009.

If I could guess... I would assume an upgrade to what you suggested (DDR3 and the like) along with a faster FSB. What much more could be upgraded on it though? Triple SLi? Some people are even running Xeons in it.

On what basis are you forming your beliefs? The fact is, to play the literalist, that the next high-end Clevo model definitely does not have "esata, ddr3 ram support, etc..." for the simple reason that it does not exist, and therefore cannot have anything, not even a motherboard, CPU, or a chassis.

The only supposition that is even remotely worth hanging on to is that the replacement for the D901C will almost assuredly be based on the desktop version of Intel's new Nehalem-class architecture.

Beyond that, who knows? If I had my druthers, it'd have a built-in time machine.

I feel you OP...Clevo needs to get w/ the program and unleash an updated/refreshed model of this King of a machine. I will love to see it w/ features such as Nehalem (Bloomfield), e-Sata, up to 8GB DDR3, built-in FP Reader etc.

*SiGh* If only I could have my own truly custom built notebook.

I keep reading that Intel is releasing Nehalem i7 in Q4 2008. That makes it a possibility that there will be a refresh to the D901c this year. Just because Clevo has traditionally waited for spring trade shows to make any major new release announcements doesn't make it absolute that we will only see a new iteration in Q3 or Q4 2009. I was surprised they didn't do a refresh this summer. With the Arima OCZ whitebook and other manufactures bringing out updated chassis this Sept/Oct. it would make marketing sense for Clevo to release an updated D901c in the near future to continue to reign supreme and to do so first and definitively. If it is to be this year my guess would be December, and if not then probably not till Spring '09--no one really knows when. It does feel as though the industry is holding back to release the next generation of computing en mass soon.

Me too. Sometimes I just can't believe that there's a D901C bios somewhere hiding.. ready to be flashed and voila', unlocked for overclocking...

I suppose one could always pay Phoenix the several thousand dollar cost to license the BIOS editor and a plain-vanilla copy of the basic Phoenix BIOS, and then customize it to one's own preferences.

That's not going to sell. See what happened to the M590KE.

I ll buy one, I would really buy one. Cause even 9800GTX SLI is not enough for crysis. But that quad SLI is very possible in 20' lappy :)

If there is to be a screen size increase it would likely be 18.4" like those coming out now from Toshiba and Sony. :)
