I was wondering if there are any news about the next gen clevos? Possibly spoken about at CES 2013?

I don't know of any news leaks, but I suspect that a new line will be slated shortly after the release of Haswell.

As Prostar mentioned the new models typically come with the new CPU's. The last two revisions were when Ivy Bridge and Sand Bridge came out.

We are getting a refresh of both CPU and GPU at similar times, but it looks as if we are getting incremental changes with maybe a couple of extra features in the gaming segment.

Update: I was told that there would be a successor to the P370EM arriving shortly. I can't confirm a model number, but it is supposedly due this month.
-
wow already? usually the sli models are released way after the new gpus and cpus are out, isnt it?

Pfffffffffft, I`ll do it for you

As a general rule of thumb, that's true. I'm not sure what the specs on it are yet, but I will update further as soon as more information is tossed my way.
-
P1x0SM model with an alienware look? oh good heavens no!
-
That W230ST will make a lot of people happy eheh, since I read this forum I've always saw a lot of potencial market for a laptop equal to that and bam here it is, well done Clevo well done
-
get that w230st to an 899 tag and i will be throwing money at my ty mac lol
-
So no more news about the next gen clevos???
-
well its still a bit early considering haswell is not going to be out until sometime in Q2
more news will surely leak / trickle down to us as time goes by
-
Where did the information in the quote come from Cloud?
-
I would imagine those specifics came from a reseller and they didn't want their name associated with it...
-
He got his information from here: http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2043121
-
funny, jack from lbo usually is always one of the first resellers to provide info on unreleased stuff

Maybe not exactly, just a touch of laser led lights that syncs with your soundcard and a mini disco ball giveaway

All I really want is a better screen...

2048×1152 and/or 2560×1440 -
Completely agree. I imagine 2560x1440 on a 17". I could really use that in Photoshop!!!!
GIMME!!!

That and 120hz 15.6" displays because they don't really need that many more pixels.
-
this. i would love this.
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Let me add to that, 120hz means you can't have optimus at the same time so a Muxed switchable setup with 120hz screen so I can get battery life when I need it and 120hz no switching nonsense when I don't
-
I hope the Alienware - esque mentioned is optional, i like how Clevo laptops don't tent to stand out in terms of styling. I look forward for more details
-
I feel like the p150 in comparison to the p151 is "flashier." its made of better material and has the backlit keyboard.

Well if they have the two lines that could work for both preferences as everyone has different tastes.
-
I think a flashier model option would be awsome personally. Many people, me included, love alienware looks, but the high prices compared to similarly speced clevo's and the CS and horror stories is a buzz kill for me. MSI has nice looks and their prices are better than AW, but they only use 1 fan, and Clevo's still seem to have better build quality.
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Oh the MSI has pretty comparable cooling because its single fan is stronger.
-
Yeah the MSI does a better job with heat than alienware

Well to be honest with you, i have never seen a P150 up close to compare with my P151 but i like the understated looks of both of them. The thing i dont like on the new models is the backlight keyboard, i dont know how it feels like but i prefer the chiclet ones.
-
would it be ever possible to throw a 7970m in there if it did have a muxless setup? cause without enduro, latest drivers and a stable overclock, its still one hell of a gpu.
-
I find myself in the market, and am currently hoping the next Clevos come out sooner rather than later (looking at the P150EM/SM.
Guess I'll see how long I am willing to wait ... -
I hope P150SM's stereo jack provides bass unlike the P150EM...
-
That would depend on whether they use (once again) that ALC892 DAC.
I hope they dont.... -
Clevo used a much better DAC in the W370ET, so hopefully they have the sense to add it into all of the other models.
The company is so dumb though, I bet they don't upgrade the P1x0SM's DACs. -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
We have seen a trend with the likes of the 370EM to move to a stronger audio solution so hopefully that will continue.

Samsung did it, it just requires some extra work. -
what do you mean samsung did it? aha :S
& a modded bios im guessing? -
what???
-
M14x I meant lol. My bad

Any guess as to the graphics card in the W230ST? I hope it's better than the GT 650m.

I know for a fact once Haswell is released Eurocom is going to release the Panther 7D, Which has Quad Sli/Crossfire. So i do believe that it's all dependant on the CPU/GPU release dates.

When it comes to thermal management, Alienware > MSI > Clevo.
It's easier to help the MSI along too.
I doubt we are going to see 4 graphics cores in a notebook, apart from the lack of space you would be running into extreme power issues on the motherboard. Have you seen the size of motherboards capable of delivering 500W of power? They are usually of the dual socket variety with huge heatsinks. -
....and they cost sums with 4 digits and above.
Its disgusting, really. -
was about to say, either republicofsam has been had or hes trying to get us
-
Agree to disagree. I have no interest in MSI's single fan, louder than all their competition, EXTREMELY thick cooling system.
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
One fan avoids annoying harmonic tones and it moves a lot of air, it's mostly the sound of the air moving that you are hearing with it and the sager/clevo machines have to get just as loud to provide the same level of cooling. Also due to the way the fan profile is on the clevo with an overclocked 680M you will see throttling. -
What Meaker said.
When I got my W370ET, I was afraid my single fan would be loud as hell.
Turns out my laptop is unnaturally quiet and all I hear is the harddisk in my ODD caddy (a silent purrr sound).
On full load, its more silent than my 150HM at idle.
I presume, the MSI is also quiet, considering it has one BIG fan (meaning less RPM speeds to cool sufficient, also meaning less noise).
Clevo is on the right path with the W series I think.
Not so sure about their P370's though.
