Hello guys I am in a really big trouble here.
After the windows 8.1 update I went to update my BIOS/EC so I could correctly enable the secureboot thing MS invented!
Well i have flashed these things and the GPU before no issue at all, but this time something went wrong, after following the steps closely (like booting into pure DOS enviroment) and flashing the EC (apparently successfully with the predicted computer auto shutdown) (only thing that I was not expecting was answering two yes/no questions to continue the process, but i can't recall what they were), I unplugged all power and battery from the computer for 10 minutes and when trying to turn it back on to flash the BIOS, BAM, no post, no lights, no sound, no sign of life, no nothing!!!!!
Please tell me this is fixable... Any suggestions besides shipping it to the manufacturer? Please help!
    Cheers

You may have to remove the CMOS battery to clear all settings.

Ok could you provide me the instructions to do that? Is this battery the one under the keyboard?

One more thing, not even the light indicating that the power cord is plugged, nor the battery light are on, the only light that works is the psu light.
Also I removed the cord from what I think to be the CMOS battery from the board for 30 seconds since the battery itself is wrapped on a black thing. No luck yet.

    Please help!

    Cheers

What update files did you use? Did you flash the BIOS before the EC? Do you remember your old BIOS & EC versions? Did the system make a beep sound before shutting down?
Usually if we get no lights with PSU plugged in the EC (or PSU) is dead...

Thank you Prema.... I suspect it is indeed dead since it makes nothing no sound no light no nothing....I also unplugged the CMOS battery cord and nothing.... I have been chatting with the Myth tech guys and they suspect it is dead too...Thankfully they are awesome and I will get a mobo for replacement... when this happens is when the investment of choosing serious and great business pays off, otherwise I would have pretty expensive paper weight. SO THANK YOU TOO MYTH!

Thank you anyway, unfortunately these things happens...

Hmmm that's weird why would you unplug all power and battery after ec flash. From memory on p170hm after ec flash you then do bios flash directly afterwards and after that the system shuts down you feel like omg it's dead and then you press power button and pheeeew she lights up and works and you breath sigh of relief. Unless new machines are different I am not sure why you would remove all power sources after ec flash.

The W230ST needs this procedure as the newer ECs come with significant changes and the system would otherwise do a thermal emergency shutdown during the BIOS flash.

    Yea

His was just a flash that went bad.. Used the right files etc. Just the EC gave out during a flash.. We've seen it happen before, we'll take care of it =)

Thank you again guys, you are awesome.

The first update I did the same procedure and no problem, btw I only unplugged the power after the computer auto shut down not during the process as the other user suggested... maybe the CHIP didn't like it this time...lol

That or something funky happened and corrupted data got fed into the chip in the wrong place.
