    Hi guys,

I recently got a new TV and a HDMI to HDMI cable, I get picture but no sound on it, the sound does come from my laptop but I want it from my tv. I tried googling the problem but it doesn't seem to work. I run on Windows XP 64 bit, I select Realtek HD Audio output but no luck.

You may have to change the option from within the program playing the video.

You need to open the Realtek control panel and select the Digital Output tab. Then right-click and set it as the default device. Then restart the computer and you should have sound working.

    1. Where did you get that Realtek Control Panel? Mine doesn't look like that...

    2. Try going into Window's Control Panel -> Hardware -> Sound, and select the output device there. This is what I do when using my HDMI out.

I had that since the beginning, 2 years ago. :p
And I tried that, doesn't show anything about HDMI and I've tried all options but no luck. Maybe it's because of Windows XP?

What exactly does it show there, in the Sound menu?

Mine looks like this, Win7. It's interesting that yours says nVidia, but I guess it does matter the driver as the HDMI goes through the GPU.

Also try the nVidia 187.62 drivers from the Sager website. They are also really good.

No clue why its called nVidia. D:
Also my laptop is branded as a Clevo, so I don't think it has much use for me to get it from the Sager website, I did however try to find them on laptopvideo2go but they are only for Vista/W7.

Alright, I updated my GPU driver to 195 something and now I have sound on my TV instead of laptop. Yay! Thanks for the help guys, really appreciate it. :D
