So far i have test rainbow six vegas 2. On the menu i get 26 fps with the ress of 1200 x 800. Everything else on low. On vista i got 26 fps as well. So far im not happy with xp. Is it because the drivers arent as good for xp as they are for vista??.
In game i get about 26 - 32 fps same with vista. No boost what so ever why is that?. I played cod 4 with no custom config my fps is
90 almost always but then fps lag spikes can be like 24 fps then back 90 again. With xp i was hoping to get rid of the fps spikes.

    Going to run 3dMark 06.

The FPS difference has greatly diminished due to Vista's maturation and a multitude of new drivers.

im on the 169 driver. The 174 arent stable in vegas 2 After 20 mins playin vegas 2 you will notice huge fps drop to 17 and your fps will remain below 17 all the time unless you restart the game and 20 mins later 17 fps lock again or lower.

That might be due to heating up of the laptop.
I used to have problems like that with my desktop, an extra fan attached to the heat sink fixed it tho ;) . CSS used to play good for like 7 mins at 50fps then fps dropped to 10.

I really like vista 64 so far, though I haven't tried any older games with it yet. Everything seems to work fine and I would never go back to XP, but part of the reason for that is I am just tired of using it.

174.x series are better since they make the system run upto 5C cooler and give better performance.
There is no way in hell Vista can touch XP in terms of gaming performance. Not yet...
