    Hi,

I have NP5793, and it's sporadically making this noise when the fans are on. It's not coming from the fans per se, but the fans are causing the noise. To be specific, it's a metallic clinging sound. It looks like something's loose inside, and when I adjust the LCD angle or put pressure on the keyboard, it goes away. I've opened up the bottom cover and tightened the screws, but the noise is still there. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

    Thank in advance.

remove the keyboard and check it out... theres not screws, its just 3-4 plastic tabs holding down the keyboard.

Thanks for your advice. It seems I'm actually getting two kinds of noise. One is coming from the keyboard; the other rattling sound seems to be from near the smaller fan, but it's less audible. I've put some sort of cushion between the bottom of the keyboard and the plate. It hasn't eliminated the keyboard noise completely, but I'm getting the noise less frequently.

This machine is clearly Haunted. There is nothing that can be done to fix it, and if not removed the Haunting will soon grow to include your whole house.

I specialize in disposal of Haunted machines. If you pay me a $48 disposal fee I will take care of the problem for you quickly and efficiently.

Call tech support on this one... perhaps they will simply replace defective parts.
