Not sure if it's just me or not, but I'm not ovely impressed with MW3. The storyline was great, but the game paly was the same old same old from MW games. I also found the graphics to be kinda, well ty. Especially for a PC game that was so hyped up.

Hate to be the one who says it but I think MW3 woudl have rocked if they used the frostbite 2 engine. I mean really BF3 looked freaking amazing. Story line, was so so, Multiplayer i find to be much much better then MW3 multiplayer.

It's Activision; they want to have disgustingly high revenues while expending as little as possible on projects. So with this in mind, MW3 is the same as every CoD since CoD 2, essentially. Particularly in the graphics engine department, as it still uses some id Tech 4 code (which goes open source soon) and the fact that they make very little effort to improve model, texture, and world detail. In short: every Call of Duty game is technically unimpressive, and if anyone says the graphics are amazing evidently needs glasses (or their heads examined).

Not to say that it is not fun, however. I would wager that a decent percentage of the people that buy MW3 do so simply because it's fun, and not because of any graphical fidelity and such.

yeah so far I'm not really in love with the gameplay, it seems kind of clunky and awkward

graphically it's fine, nothing special but that was expected

it just doesn't feel like a "good CoD game" kind of like how I felt about World at War back in the day...

Haven't bothered with the single player yet, since MP is my priority. So far not in love with it. I kind of miss Black Ops. If Treyarch is suddenly better than what remains of Infinity Ward, I fear for the future of this franchise I <3 so much...

probably because they were spammed by fanboys

the user review score on Metacritic was something like 2.3/10 because of all the BF fans and cranky gamers that entered 0/10

Duke Nukem Forever had a better user score than that!

I haven't bought MW3 yet because I'm *very* happy with BF3, and I'm glad that I didn't based on Metacritic and user reviews like yours. Personally, I'm still upset that MW2 cheated PC users out of dedicated servers which made for a MISERABLE multiplayer experience. I wasn't planning to buy Black Ops either, but all of my friends abandoned BF:BC2 for Black Ops soon after it came out (even though we agreed not to buy it in protest of MW2).

Hopefully, the COD money machine wont "print" as much money this time, and Activision will invest in some real improvements for COD9. Until then, bring on BF3:Back to Karkand with new maps, weapons and vehicles!!!

BTW, I've owned/finished EVERY Call of Duty game until MW3, and I've always preferred COD over BF games... until BF3.

From what I've see of MW3 and BF3, I look forward to getting use to them both. I got sick of BF2, moving mainly to MW2 a couple years ago. I guess time will tell how it will go on these two.

I just think that BF3 multiplayer has the upper hand right now. With the way multiplayer diversity is in BF3, small closed in maps are going to die fast.

Now the MW3 story line was great and I enjoyed the game, but the visuals just weren't there.

now that I think about it... I was just as displeased when Black Ops game out. Then I grew to really enjoy it.

    Maybe I just fear change!

I think you nailed it, newfiejudd... the diversity of the BF series gameplay definitely helps it attract a large and diverse crowd... keeps it interesting too.

I don't know about diverse. I think generally arcade style shooters tend to have a larger/more diverse player base simply because they're easier to jump into. (the Wii effect)

Battlefield's fan and player base is certainly large but not even close to larger

I'll try and track it down but the CoD series has attracted FAR bigger sales than the BF series over the years.

    Kinda big...

I would never buy a Modern warfare game for PC. It's just much more fun on PS3. I love mine MW2 on PS3

Then you would be missing out... Countless studies have proven keyboard/mouse are much faster and more accurate. PC's FTW!

Besides... I've been playing FPS since DOOM (over 10base2 ARCnet). I'm too old to switch to a controller

And there are fewer high pitched, whiny, annoying kids on PC's.

To be completely honest, and to anyone who enjoys MW3 you are entitled, I just don't see the allure. CoD4 was revolutionary and awesome, and Modern Warfare 2 was pretty good as well. After that, I gave up on the series when they paved the way for quick cash and no innovation with Black Ops and now Modern Warfare 3.

This series has taken a toll for the worst and is on a rinse repeat cycle that I see no end for. It is a shame that this is the case and that new and innovative ideas are probably taking a back seat for what the general populace will throw their money at.

Do I play Battleifled 3? No, I don't, although if I was into playing an online shooter right now, you can bet I'd pick that over any Call of Duty released in the last year without question.

Of course the mouse and keyboard is faster and more accurate. But we are talking gameplay here right? Ive been playing FPS games on computer since doom and was heavily addicted to CS for many years. I do enjoy the COD games alot more on PS3.

MW 3 is designed to be drop in - have fun - drop out. And that works perfect on console.

There is a mute function on PS3 so you won't be bothered by them. :D

    Don't remind me...

I love how Activision is basically saying their two big releases next year are going to be another CoD and Diablo III

COD I always get on the Xbox so that I can play it with the kids. But when the kids are in bed and I'm ready for some serious FPS fun I always turn to my PC.

I game only on a PS3. I used to do the PC gaming "thing", but found it too much of a hassle and I've no desire to spend vast sums of money to keep up with the latest hardware required to get good FR's.

I've got MW3 for PS3 coming from Amazon--should be here in a few days. Until then, I'll keep killing in BO. What I don't like about BO is the lousy FR, compared to MW2, which is so much more fluid.

I mix and match, COD4 I had on both my 360 and PC

This one is starting to grow on me, although the map design is worse than Black Ops, my major complaint. Knifing and noob toobs have been excessively nerfed, but I'm sure they'll tweak 'em a bit.
