Hello, im new in this forum, cos i want to buy my 1st notebook.

And i would like to ask help of you guys please, that know for sure more than me.

I want to buy a 17" notebook gamer, with 2 hard drives to could install in each hd Win 7 and Win XP. (i've seen Sager 8760 S-1 as a good option, but i dont know if allow to have both OS)

And i would like to know, wich is the best notebook i can buy that allow to install Win 7 and Win XP?

I've read some notebooks have problems to install Win xp, so i would like to know wich one has all drives and would be easy to install that OS.

My preference is Sager, but if is other also is welcome.

    Regards.

    Hi,
the number of OS you can install is not restricted by the amount of hard disks you have. You can install 2 OS if you want on 1 HDD. Also, why do you need XP, if you have Win 7?
I would recommend to install Win 7. What's your budget?

Well, the amount of hd isnt restricted to the amount of OS, the notebooks i 've seen offer the chance to install 2 hd, and i prefer to get as much as i can, and will be 2 of 500 GB 7200rpm, + 1TB external. And the budget is around US$ 2.000-2.500

And i need Win XP to play PES 6, and i ve read Kitserver 6.5.3 has problems with Win 7.

    Check W870CU, W880CU and X8100.

You can also have 3 HDDs - Clevo X7200, a min configuration could be within your budget.

much agreed, you could always upgrade your internal hardware later since the slots are there.

Get Win7 Pro. It has Compatibility Mode so you can run old programs as if it were XP.

Ultimate = Pro + Language Packs, BitLocker and some IT stuff like AppLocker.

    Windows7 comparison

BitLocker encrypts everything on your HD. AppLocker can block users from running some applications. I don't know if it is worth the extra cost for Ultimate, but I would definately not buy Win7 Standard, especially if you have a lot of old software and games.

I have first hand experience of games that would not even load on Win7 Standard, but play fine on Win7 Pro using Compatibility Mode.
