anyone else have this problem? on my 5760 I tried installing the NHC pre-release 2.0 and it seemed to work fine. but then i booted up counter strike source and I was getting like 20 fps all of a sudden.
I checked the NHC settings and everything was fine. then i looked at my video settings on my display > settings > advanced > Geforce Go 7900 GTX tab, under PowerMizer it had reversed the settings I put into NHC. I set it to max performace on AC and max battery on DC under NHC, then I looked at the Nvidia control panel and it said max performance on DC and max battery while on AC.
I repeated by setting it to Max performance on AC and max battery on DC in the NHC settings, but yet again it reversed it when I looked at nvidia control panel.

I had to turn off NHC to keep it from messing with my settings. any ideas?

Not the same model but my 5672 likes to throttle down video performance on battery power even if I tell it not to...and then when I plug it in it doesn't go full speed for some time, I don't know

I have NHC v1.10 Beta 03 - no problems. Try installing that and see if you have the same problem. Sometimes the latest version doesn't always work the best - falling back to an older, but proven version can.

No problem with 1.10 Beta 03 either!

Has anyone messed with voltages / underclocking? Is all what's available there "supported" by Yonah? I mean on a PC you can always open up the case and reset the cmos, but on my beloved 5760, not sure I wanna do :D.

i guess if you want to undervolt with stability you'll have to go with rmclock2.1 ..since nhc1.10 doesn't work for yonah and from what i've read here 2.0 isn't exactly completely ready either

    Interesting.
I just DLed the latest NHC and got thsi same issue about teh reversed thign with the PowerMizer on nVdia cards.
Weird thing is its added to suppose to work with thsi feature and I guess it hasn't been fully fixed or tested.
Hopefully teh next version will have teh fix for it.

I am not sure where to find the older version though :(
Chaz you think you can attach the older NHC 1.10 Beta 03 for us?

I had exactly the same problem with the latest version of NHC on my new 5760.
I turned off the setting in NHC and everything was golden...

And on a related note, you should all read my new post in software regarding NHC-

I took a look at my backed up files, I don't have the installer anymore. I have some other files on CD - I'll look on there and let you know if I find anything.

I at 1st notice that performance dip with NHC when I was using the 1.10 Beta 03.
I refuse to use the latest v2 release as it somehow messes up with the nVidia Powermizer settings.

But after doing multiple tests w/ the older NHC v1.10, it just seems to be too variable the changes.
1 test I would have lower scores an another I would have regular scores.
The scores I have for my benchmarks on my review for my 5760 actually have NHC v1.10 Beta 03 running in the background.
