Is the synaptics pointing device executable still on when the device stops working?

    Crtl alt delete with tab.

    It goes like this

    1) Ctrl - Alt - Del
    2) Tab over to process tab, navigation with ctrl-tab and ctrl-shift-tab
    3) Check to see if SynTPEnh.exe is there.

Also try uninstalling your touchpad drivers from the Control Panel Device Manager and then let them reinstall. Or reinstall those from the CD, if it is not a hardware problem, the drivers may have just become corrupted.

I'll just be Captain Obvious here and ask..
Have you tried pressing Fn + F1?? Maybe somehow you're just hitting that key combo by accident and turning off the touchpad?

Thats not so obvious, good call though.

And if thats not the problem, you can try the abovem entioned solution, with a reinstall

Along with SynTPEnh.exe, you'll also need to make sure SynTPHelper.exe is running as well (in case you're like me and tend to disable anything labeled "helper').

There must be conflict between your blueteeth mouth and the mouse pad. It happened to me before. I have a logitech vx nano mouse. What I did was installed the mouse first and then the synaptics app later.
