Just bought my sager 2 weeks ago with the seagate 7200.4 500gb HDD. Today when I try to run the dst short and long test, both of them fail. Does that mean this one was a bad drive. I'mm worried![]()

There are usually two symptoms that are largely correlated with a DST error: bad sectors or loose connections. What I suggest you do is run chkdsk first to confirm that your HDD is free from bad sectors and is recovered from any bad sectors. chkdsk will restart itself after every bad sector it finds. If chkdsk passes but still DST fails, then that means you should reseat the HDD. If that still doesn't work, give Sager a ring to get the drive replaced.
