I have all but decided on getting the sager 9262 but i just have a few questions I'm am wondering probably not going to affect my decision of buying them though.

-What is the better graphic card:
Dual Nvidia GeForce 9800M GT Graphics with 512MB DDR3 Video Memory in SLI mode
    or
Single Nvidia GeForce 9800M GTX Graphics with 1GB DDR3 Video Memory

    - How difficult is it to upgrade the graphics card myself to the Dual Nvidia GeForce 9800M GTX Graphics with 1GB DDR3 Video Memory in SLI mode

-Can the memory be upgraded to 8gb DDR3 ram?

-How big of a difference in performance is there between DDR2 and DDR3 Ram?

I am primarily looking for gaming performance, Thanks guys!!!

    1) Dual 9800M GT would be more power than the Single 9800M GTX but there are times when SLI configuration doesn't always work so in that case 9800M GTX would be considered more powerful

I don't really know much about it but from what i have read in the forums it fairly easy to upgrade at long as the card is SLI configured

    2) Yes the notebook can be upgraded to 8 GB of Ram but don't think its DDR3 also the total ram that would be able is around 6.5 GB instead of 8 GB
(unless ur planning on doing some intensive work, i think 4 GB is more than enough for now)

3)I doubt there is difference in terms of performance more 1-2% but i don't know much about DDR3

also wait for replies from the 9262 owners

Thanks for helping me get started guys, i have been doin a good bit of reading in the mean time and it looks like the 9800Gt is the way to go, most ppl are saying its not even worth the money to go 9800Gtx... i would like to hear from 9262 oweners, is that correct? and yes i am aware of the 6.xx gb restriction. Thanks!

...still wondering if anyone has a good idea on the performance difference between DDR2 and DDR3

Ok i did some reading seems DDR3 is the future however atm it doesn't its worth the upgrade especially at the price compared to DDR2,

the only performance gain i see is 2-3% check the LINK down its shows some benchmarks b/t both

another pro is that DDR3's run at lower voltages - they generate less heat

There is almost no performance difference between DDR2 & DDR3 as the DDR2 has lower latencies which negate the slower clocks. DDR3 is however lower power than DDR2.

If you can get 9800GT's sli then go for it,worth every penny... The Sli increase may not be 100%,most of the games you going to see an improvement of 30-50% but hopefully in the future more than that.

I dont reccomend you to get 9800GTX's sli if you want to throw some cash with no importand reasons then is ok,but what is best deal for me right now is 9800GT in sli.

Not to mention the fact that the 9262 can not use DDR3 memory :(

    ATI 3870 X2 ~ SLI Nvidia 9800M GTS/GT

the SLI 8800M GTX will be close to that as well.

As for cooling, no notebook can beat the cooling system design (four large diameter fans with independent heatsinks/pipes) of the Clevo D901C (aka. Sager 9262).

So far the benchmarks in Crysis for 3870 Crossfire Mobile is not impressive at all. Below my 8800m GTX SLI average FPS in Crysis.

After Xotic stopped selling the 9800m GT SLi config, all the other stores that still do offer it come out to just about the same price as if you now get the 9800m GTX SLi from Xotic. Those other stores are WAY more expensive on every other upgrade. Xotic and Sager themselves are the only ones I've seen charging 30-40 dollars for hard drive and ram upgrades. Everywhere else it's at least 50, 80, even 200 at some, and the SLi option for the 9800m GT's is also more than it originally was on Sager/Xotic.

The processors are ridiculously overpriced on other stores as well.

If you're serious about getting SLi in the Sager, trust me, you will save money by getting the GTX's from Xotic. The 9800 GT SLi is much much more everywhere else, and no this is not an advertisement post. Seriously, I've been looking at prices for the past two weeks, and if you're not concerned with painting/skinning the laptop, then Xotic is definitely cheapest.
