Np8170-s1

Forgive me if there is already a thread on this but I didn't see one for the S1. I'm well aware of the issue with the 2nd gen processors (SATA) that intel is working on to fix but I was wondering if anyone has tested this machine yet as my brother wants to get one as soon as possible.

Main thing I want to know is if the following are well made and satisfactory:

touchpad
gpu/cpu temps
display
and basically, any known issues.

I kinda learned my lesson from buying new laptops (like the one in my sig) without hearing others opinions on it (which had major issues and wasn't fixed for months) but my bro plans to buy it asap. Before he buys it, I wanted to hear some opinions on this machine.

 

Well, the S1 is the same as the normal NP8170. S1 is the special priced version with set components.

And he can't expect to get one ASAP. Even if he places an order now he won't get it for at least another month, probably more.
