    Hey guys,
I've got my np8660 about 6 months ago with the help of very helpful members here. I've been very happy with it and still am.

One of the very few issues with it is that the screen seem to be unusually dim, dimmer than any other laptop I've seen from different brands and prices. It is starting to bother me a bit since I can barely see anything in a lit room.

I'm wondering if I should contact the store [XoticPC] and ask for replacement, and what diagnoses can I do before contacting them? [I'm pretty sure the screen is as bright as it could be, all the brightness settings are maxed out]

I would take a photo of the screen but a photo of a screen is never accurate.. maybe if I take one next to my desktop screen or my friends Gateway laptop.

    Thanks in advanced

My 5793 is the dimmest laptop out of my 15, so I wouldn't surprise if same thing happens on the 8660. Maybe you can ask for different model of panel.

hmm.. its pretty disappointing, any idea why they are so dim? it seems to be an easy flaw to fix in an otherwise perfect laptop.

have you toggled the Brightness controls to max?

if so, then contact your vendor and tell them your issue so that they can either replace the panels or repair the current panel if there are loose cable or a backlight in need of replacement.

also are you on battery saver, balanced or high performance. first 2 always have a dimmer screen.
click on battery in bottom right of screen and if not put on high performance.
