I will have my first m860tu very soon. But i'm still unsure about the cpu choice that i'll be making---P8700, P9600 and Q9000. I'm leaning toward q9000 a bit more. but can any one confirm with 3dmark scores or actual gaming performance? I'd really appreciate your help! and thanks in advance!

and yes the vendor is selling them for about the same price which is a dillema to me now.
-
Also, if you want to play GTA IV well the Q9000 is a good one to get. I would expect a Core2Duo to get more battery life but I haven't tested this either way.
Performance feels a lot better now that I have 4GB RAM and Windows 7 X64 though, it seems to make much better use of the multiple Cores. -
I would much more recomand the P9600... heat will be better, you will perform greater overclock on the video card.
And a Q9000 would limit ur performance more even if it is quad core, because its frequency is simply too low...
I sell a QX9300 for a good price, but I'm originally from europe. -
Do you see any limited performance in this link http://tinyurl.com/Q9000-Performance-Thread -
WOW i'm more confused!
you've got a great review there Laptopnut. And crysis at 1680 with a min of 35, that's just quite impressive. wish i could have framerates of a p9600 at the same ingame setting.
and my np8662 will come in 1920by1200, again at this res, which cpu will be better with gaming? thx for all your input! -
The best CPU for crysis performance is a T9900.
I'm 100% sure.
I compared my QX9300 with my X9100 , my X9100 performs better. at crysis, every setting High ( unlike LaptopNut who set some to medium ) at 1680 x 1050 I got 31,5 fps in DX10 high with my X9100 / 29,8 fps with my QX9300, and even at CPU benchmark for crysis , my X9100 performs better than my QX9300. -
The FPS difference from different CPUs in Crysis is miniscule at best. It was designed to run on Core Duos from before Penryn, anything will do. I would recommend the Q9000 or a better quad, and here's why: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=411615

I will check the frame rates in Windows 7 later. I believe Crysis is more dependent on GPU, than CPU power.
Take a look at this benchmark at 1680 X 1200 in Crysis
http://uk.gamespot.com/features/6182806/p-6.html
Now I don't know how accurate these results are but look at the Core2 Extreme X6800 @ 2.93GHz compared to the Core2 Duo E6300 @ 1.86GHz results.
EDIT: I set everything in Crysis to high and I was getting max of 37-39 fps, lowest I saw was 25 fps, most constant was 31 fps. It all depends what location you are at, number of enemies etc, however, I still recommend setting some values to medium since they don't impact how good the game looks much but improve performance a lot. -
I may make my thread.

Hmmmm, finally it becomes clear. Just coming across a thread about new clevo models having like 8 [email protected]! multicores are the way to go, yup
@laptopnut, yeah your link actually explains a lot!
@MikjoA sure it's nice to have a qx9300 like you do, but i kinda have a budget to play with, anyways looking forward to your real gaming results!
@anothergeek, you've got a point there, but some data seems to be missing by STALKER Clear Skies! -
