awesome! weird how the release notes dont really differ much from 304.79
-
anyone try them out yet?
-
i will in 3 hours when i get off work
-
after update my GTX680M the latest driver, two issues remaining:
1. there's still no TXAA option.
2. in Sync option, the Adaptive Vertical Sync is gone, only left with on/off/override any application setting
Anyone can explain please? -
2. It seems like they have decided to take it out. -
I am going to try these now, hopefully it won't conflict with the drivers given with to me by Sager.
-
-
exactly, i just rolled back the driver to 302.96
-
Just downloaded them, they say they're incompatible with my hardware : /
Any suggestions? -
UPDATE
just been pointed out on the gaming thread. nvidia have fecked up and the 64bit drivers as advertised take you to the 32bit drivers download.
edit:
the 64bit drivers on my first post are now directed to the correct download.
nvidia get your act together. -
adaptive vsync was removed because it was buggy for certain games and created a choppyness that was quite annoying. they are working to reimplement it in future drivers -
-
realistically maybe 25% of all end users would even know how to turn adaptive vsync off if they were having issues. Most ppl on NBR are more tech savvy then the average individual. nvidia has to cater to the masses
-
Thanks for posting this. I have downloaded the drivers several times not noticing I was getting the 32-bit version. Their website is still mixed up. Your link is great. Thanks!

Just had a read of the PDF release notes ...
The 680m is not showing under supported notebook devices? WTH? Or did i miss it? -
now it should be as this driver now shows up when you do a search for 6xx notebook drivers.
to be honest i havnt had a chance to check the pdf out fully as nvidia has fecked up all their pages with the wrong driver links and as i post these on quite a few forums (of course nbr is always first) ive been back tracking to try and sort their mess out.
its not until you got to the licence agreement page that the download showed 32bit. ive seen messups from them before but this takes the biscuit. -
Nvidia's 306.02 Together with Intel GFX .2817 I got another Performance Boost!
PC MARK 7: 5229
3DMARK11: 6237
3DMARK VANTAGE: 26398 -
What is the process for installing this on a Clevo book? I understand that they GPU is shared on chip with the Intel one and when playing around with beta drivers for the 7970m I had a host of issues. Is this just a standard install package? Or do I have to check "3d driver" only during a custom install or something?
I'm new to the Nvidia foldAny help would be appreciated.

Hi Peekachu
very good point. i would also like to know this as a new owner myself of the 680 graphics card.
in the past i would suggest a manual clean install in safe mode but like you im not sure now.
with nvidia in the past its just the driver you would install and all the other files would auto update. im guessing its the same now but its best for someone else to confirm this. -
I dont like driversweeper etc in switchable graphics systems. sometimes it works like a charm but other times it messes something up and i cant get my system to run properly. -
Is anyone using the updated Clevo driver (302.92) that was recently posted on their site? Looks like folks are doing fine with this 306.02 beta but why would one not use the Clevo drivers? Just curious about it and wanted to ask prior to updating.
-
someone on here tried that driver which gave better readings and then he tried this one which was better still.

Anyone try installing the new drivers OVER the old ones?
-
-
i actually asked the Nvidia Tech support guy and he said this:
-
Hey guys, although my lappy is an Alienware I am running clevo cards, yet its still telling me it can't find compatible hardware? Running 2 680m's in SLI. Any ideas?
-
If you do see four 0's then you'll need to get a modded driver or modify the driver yourself everytime you want to install a new driver. -
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_11A0&SUBSYS_048F1028&REV_A1
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_11A0&SUBSYS_048F1028
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_11A0&CC_030000
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_11A0&CC_0300
None of which match what you posted. So I assume I have to modify the drivers myself. Which file should I modify and which ID should I add?
Edit: Well I just opened up the INF from my original drivers, copied the entire device list and pasted it in the new INF and it has installed everything perfectly, thanks for all the help guys. -
Checked 306.02, there are 4 dell GTX680M in it but there's no PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_11A0&SUBSYS_048F1028
If they are originally made by Clevo, then your laptop couldn't read the hardware ID correctly. If it's a Clevo card, go to C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver\306.02\Win8_WinVista_Win7_64\International\Display.Driver and open up nvcv.inf. Ctrl + F to bring up the search box and paste this into it:
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_11A0&SUBSYS_71021558
You should be able to find it under the section [NVIDIA_SetA_Devices.NTamd64.6.0] and [NVIDIA_SetA_Devices.NTamd64.6.1] and also [NVIDIA_SetA_Devices.NTamd64.6.2]. Three results total. Now for all 3 you can either delete &SUBSYS_71021558 or modify the 71021558 into 048F1028. Either way works. Once you finish editing, save the inf and run the setup.exe.
But if it's originally a Dell card, do this:
Find nvdm.inf under C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver\306.02\Win8_WinVista_Win7_64\International\Display.Driver and open it. Then bring up the search box and paste this into the box:
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_11A0&SUBSYS_05801028
And search the string. You should find only 2 results out of it right under the [NVIDIA_SetA_Devices.NTamd64.6.1] and [NVIDIA_SetA_Devices.NTamd64.6.2] section.
Delete &SUBSYS_05801028 or modify 05801028 into 048F1028 for both of them, save .inf and run setup.exe.
All the file paths above are the default extracting directory for drivers downloaded from NVIDIA.
Edit: Looks like you got it solved -
Lol. I'll give your suggestions a try just for the heck of it and see if it works. If it does I'll do the same if I encounter the issue again instead of copying the entire device list from one inf to the other.

i'm using the Clevo driver 302.92, and it's working very well.
the adaptive sync is available under this driver. -
, your card has the original vbios, just it depends on whether the hardware ID is presented correctly, if it's incorrectly then we have to take the incorrect hardware ID and modify the driver with it.

306.02 crashes BF3 for me constantly...
-
306.02 working great for me so far.. Can't really attest to better performance since I flashed non-stock firmware on my 680m which boots at 900/1100.. I don't have BF3 to test with, but Guild Wars 2 is working as it did before.. can't say if these drivers are actually smoother or not - GW2 doesn't run great as it is.. even though it tells me i'm running at 80 fps at near max settings (shadows and post processing kill our 680m) it still feels sluggish at times.

Installed over the old ones and checked off clean install. No problems so far. Witcher 2 on the default drivers I was getting some weird stuttering, but now it is gone and running smooth as butter. GW2 seems to be a lot smoother for me as well. I will give a few other games a try later today after work. Particularly BF3 & Batman: AC

New drivers are out and they work beautifully - GW 2. 60 (capped) FPS in GW 2 with everything at max. The lowest I've seen is 30 FPS during WvWvW with like 50+ people on each of three sides slinging spells. Incredible.

could you post your feedback for the WHQL > http://forum.notebookreview.com/sager-clevo/688137-nvidia-whql-306-23-notebook-drivers.html
-
Has anyone with the 650M or 670M tried a DX11 game with these new drivers? They have not worked for me.
-
you wont get a reply here as this is an old page for the beta drivers
