    Nvidia GTX560m in 8130...

    sometimes runs at .82v and other times at 1.0v. I have no idea why. The only utility I've got to check/adjust it with is NvidiaInspector. Even if I hit "defaults", there's no telling if it's going to choose .82v or 1.0v. Is it harmful for it to run at 1.0v all the time and why can't I change it?

    I think it changes depending on what clock its running at. For example, the card will down clock to like 51MHz when your not doing video intensive stuff and will go up to 775MHz when your gaming. The downclocking will reduce the amount of voltage the card uses and will increase when its being used at its potential.

    ah, that may be what's going on. thanks. I'll take a look at all the details in nvidiainsepector to see if there is a direct relationship between the current clock speed and the voltage..that thought hadn't crossed my mind.

    Thats exactly what there is.

    These cards have 2 voltage levels, one for 2D and low power 3D clock and one for performance 3D.
