shrug... thats all? I want the best and nothing short of it... well I'd be happy with the GTS if it didn't requre a mobo upgrade
-
WHy are theere so many types of high end gpus in the 9 series?
-

something tells me we wont see all of these, I wonder if this year will finally be the year for simple upgrades
hmmmm....probably not but you never know
glass half full and all -
I doubt we will see the 9 series mobile platform this year.

yes very nice shyster, it dont actually see the need to upgrade mine for a good while yet, it should last me at least 2 months
but it would be nice if they all finally settled on a uniform gpu design.
I suppose waiting and seeing what happens is what we have to do, I am just not used to it , being a desktop veteran and all -
Maybe we`ll see this mobile chipsets in the summer, with a bit of luck. But I wouldn`t count on that.
I`d rather see the 10th series, which will be based on a new G200 core. Higher TDP and all. -
That sure is a long list of mobile GPUs!
-
waiting for a 17'---19' notebook with 9800m Gtx, quad core mobile
-
A 17-19 foot notebook!
-
Back to the luggable days , huh ?
-
wheres the 9650M GS???
comparison list with the 8 series?? -
There is no comparison list. Only the names have been revealed.
This is the third thread I've seen about this, I'll repeat what I said for the first two: not much of a revelation. A blind man could have seen the 9 series coming. -
really want to see their REAL spec... especially the 9650 GT....
-
Also, I'm specifically waiting for the 9800M GTX to come out before I purchase a M860TU to hold it. Is it likely that the M860TU can not, in fact, support the card at ALL? Major disappointment if this is true... -

Same architecture, sure, but a whole lot more heat...

The 9-series info appears to have been updated on the VR-Zone webpage.

well I am sure their mobile parts will be designed with selling to OEM's quickly in mind
its also quite likely that the 9800m gtx will run at similar temps etc to the 8800m gtx, so yes I think it will be in the 15" clevo.
and of course while a bunch of people are waiting for the next big thing.
I will be playing games on the current big thing........................I am of course referring to my laptop!!!! -
So 9700M GTS/9800M GT(GTS) will be pretty much an 9600 GT(64SPs) desktop card... like what happened with 8700M GT/8600 GTS...
Because the only 64SPs, their performance will be very close to an actual 8800M GTS... nothing fantastic about that...
Only 9800M GTX will use the G92 core... lets hope no lazer cut this time, all 128SPs... -
Bo@LynboTech Company Representative
lets just hope the whole lot just slots into our current laptops
then we would be able to prolong the time before upgrade..........
actually ......... who am I kidding ??? I will get the 2 year itch like always -
I have the 1 year itch. But If i`ll switch to the 8800M GTX and get a Penryn, I might just be at peace
-
-
Na,I`ll buy an itching cream
I have to start saving money for an apartment, I will get married in a few years and can`t afford more laptops...3 are enough for now -
yeah, that's what I was wondering myself. If it does happen, I'm guessing we would see a nice price drop on the 8 series from sager, no? -
Edit: One important thing to remember is that the mobile 9 series is a "refresh" not a totally new set of chips and the 8700mGT's selling point versus the 7950 was dx10 support; the 9-series won't have this advantage and the 8800mGTX is a really beastly card (as was/is the Go 7950 GTX) -
Yeah, it's a refresh just like the desktop counterparts right?
I picked up an 8800GT when I built my desktop back in December (my own holiday gift tee hee, wifey got a louie vuton, so she owed me) and I was a bit weary about upgrading before the 9 series, but I'm glad I didn't wait. I do wish I picked up a GTX though instead of the GT, I'm having a terrible time when I enable AA in just about all games....
-
Personally, I'd be pretty mad if I bought a 640MB GTS before the 512s were out -
-
what does nvidia plan to do with 5 types of 9800's?
-
-
-
Well, I've got a Porche.... except it's in game, unfortunately
Failing that, you could always sell one of your organs on ebay -
Well, any way you put it, i'm getting the 8800m GTX, if I can benefit from a price decrease because of these 'new' cards. Beautiful.
-
Darn it Shyster1, just when I found somebody who whould buy my Porsche
Well,my Opel does 100 mph easily and since it doesn`t eat more than 2.5 gallons/60 miles(worst case scenario-usually 1.5 gallons/60 miles) I am happy with it.
My 7950GTX, that is another story. It has outlived its usefullness.
Enter 9800MGTX! -
-
but....... where are the GX2 s ??
I am god damn sure that they will come -
lol well.. i wouldn't bet on that.
-
-
so that they can make more $
-
-
eh yea.. in a notebook?
-
when might the g200 core be released? any guesstimates?
-
-
so will the 9800gts be more powerful then the 8800gtx??? some people on other forums seem to believe this will be the case???
