    Hi,

I've had the Clevo P670RS-G for a few weeks now. Loving it.

One question for anyone that knows.

The Nvidia Geforce Experience "Game Ready Driver" that came installed is Version: 368.83 and says "You have the latest Geforce Driver" but the drop down on the Driver version says Information not available.

Is this a Clevo Proprietary driver version that I can only update from Clevo's website or will I get updates from Nvidia?

The driver isn't approved by 3DMark and I would like to get an approved driver cause I enjoy benchmarking from time to time.

My desktop PC running dual GTX 980Ti's which I've updated today is at Version: 375.70 so I know there is a later version.

    Appreciate any advice.

    Thanks

Yes, sounds like a proprietary Clevo mod driver. Just go to NVIDIA.com and download the correct drivers for your OS and GPU.

Or, even better yet, use a @j95 GeForce mod from this thread instead: [Alienware & Clevo] Aftermarket Upgrades Driver Support - Modded INF

It's possibly the last driver for that model, that was verified and approved by Clevo basically. That's fairly normal for a lot of manufacturers to not always have the newest drivers. Mr. Fox is right, and just get the newer version from Nvidia.

Clevo rolls out very few updates and, like most OEMs, is almost always behind on driver revisions. They supply a known working driver, but your updates should come from the vendor (in this case, NVidia).

I've been telling Alienware customers the same things for years. I don't know why people think that once a machine is released with known good working drivers the OEM needs to burn a lot of calories on driver updates. That is a futile endeavor. If something is broken in drivers or firmware, the OEM needs to take responsibility for fixing it, but that's where their obligation ends as far as I am concerned. Other than Hotkey and Creative X-Fi software downloads, there is no reason to go to Clevo or Sager for downloads.

    Yes, that is so true.

And, for years laptop owners hated having to go to the OEM for proprietary laptop drivers. Now that we don't need to, everyone should be happy about that. I would suck to have to rely on notebook OEMs for proprietary drivers like the bad old days.

You can download the latest drivers from NVIDIA. Just make sure you've selected GeForce 10 Series (notebooks) from the drop-down menu on the download page, and choose your operating system.

There is talk of nvidia switching to pure delivery via GeForce experience but I think that would be a bad idea.

Have you used the "clean installation" option in the Custom/Advanced install method? Updating over the original Clevo driver shouldn't rob you of HDMI audio.

Agreed. GFE is problematic for updates in laptops usually.

Strange... Is your HDMI device set as the default in the Windows Playback devices, too?

there is not even listed -when HDMI plugged in.. (and show disabled devices option is ON)
In device manager I have only: Realtek Controler and Nvidia Audio Device (WDM)- sth like that BUT there should be also Nvidia High Definition Driver-that is missing on the sound controler devices...

    Clevo p751 DM 2 ; GTX 1070 i7 6700K-that is my equipement

Thanks for sharing that, must have been a bad trace or passive on the motherboard.
