    your welcome.
these seem much better than the last whql.
63c on gpu and cpu and 53c on both cores after 2 hours game play.

The last whql drivers (10/24 I think, 285.62) actually blue screened me (nvlddmkm error code on the blue screen) four times in the space of a few hours after upgrading, which nothing else has ever done on my laptop. Of course, it's an M860TU with a dying 9800M GT card (having issues downclocking and switching from 2d/3d clocks sometimes - I missed the wave of 9800M GT owners here ranting earlier this year I think), but still - noticeably bad drivers :( It's not the first time recently that nvidia's released bad drivers (there was a fan issue a while back too). I stay away from any that seem to be rushed to meet the deadlines for a game and say so in the patch notes. Bah! :)

Anyway, thanks for the heads up; I might try these.

i know what you mean Tarentum.
also had issues in the past. dont think ive had a bsod but on boot up native resolution changed to lowest so had to change it back each time.
my 9800 died in march and have now got a 260 and its slightly more powerfull with 1000 more points in 3dmark06

so far so good with these beta drivers. no issues yet.

Yep, saw that/your threads. I'm thinking about it too - it's only a matter of time before it goes :(

But yeah, drivers are ok so far! Lower temps by a bit.

it sometimes takes a couple of days for the temps to settle down. no idea why but when i update drivers temps are normaly 1-2c higher than previous but then settle down.
i know it was 3 years ago but after loading the intel matrix driver it lowered by almost 5c
can anyone advise if the intel matrix is still being used on these new models.

Intel renamed their "Intel Storage Matrix" drivers (AHCI support, RAID drivers, but on the m860tu's they were great at reducing southbridge temps a bit over stock windows drivers) "Intel Rapid Storage Technology" (sigh... intel's names) but yeah, I would update chipset drivers from manufacturers for new laptops as well. I kept mine up to date - eSATA didn't work with very old/stock Intel chipset drivers etc.

Driver does nothing for benchmarks, but for both my NP8662 and my NP8130, it gives me about 3 to 5 fps on Shift 2 Unleashed. In some instances the driver's better programming can sometimes be the difference between smooth and stuttering when I'm in a car-intense race. I'm gonna try it out on DiRT 2 to see if there's further improvement.
