Hello Nvidia Users,
I've joined your ranks and it's a dream. 7970M was hell, this is a relief. No more flickering shadows, no more striped dynamic shadows, no more performance hits from the countless PhysX titles, and just no more headache.
But... On AMD in the power settings, when adjusting the Windows High Performance power settings, there was a section for switchable graphics. Tell it whether to use dGPU or iGPU.
Or is Optimus completely fully automated with no settings other than to add game profile?
- Also Nvidia Inspector beats EVERYTHING available for AMD combined. Automated overclocking without any stupid overly and annoyances from Afterburner? Yes please!

Open up Nvidia Control Panel and there you will find the settings for the games and apps that you wish to check.
Ive made 2 shortcuts on my desktop, one for the Intel GPU Settings, the second for Nvidia's C-Panel.
Here are the exe files you need to find:
"C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\Control Panel Client\nvcplui.exe"
"C:\Windows\System32\GfxUI.exe"
Make shortcuts of them and disable the context menu items (I like my context menu clean) -
Hmm not really what my question was.

You can't turn off Optimus, it's ALWAYS on and the iGPU is always used for the output. the dGPU just does or doesn't do the grunt work.

Scaling and other settings are controlled via Intel control panel.
Basically what you see is what you get for options.
Oh and the profiles aren't just for games, you can add anything to them but it does not guarantee if you select Nvidia or Intel it will use that. Optiumus still takes priority and does what it wants on lower level stuff lol -

You can pick preferred power (like adaptive, performance etc.) and on program setting (profiles) you can pick "Preferred graphics..." The keyword being preferred though. In the early days (and maybe AMD, never had them) what you picked is what it used. Now days it will still take it's own calculations into play and decide if the cost of power usage is worth what it can do vs. iGPU.
