    Hi all,

Hoping someone can shed some light on this issue.
I bought a Clevo W370SS (Nvidia GT860M) based laptop late last year from Scan in UK. Terrific machine!
    Earlier this year, I installed a 512GB 850 Evo SSD and re-installed Win 8.1.
After a minor driver issue (which Scan helped me out with), I got it working perfectly and has been ever since. A month or so ago, I installed Autocad 2016, so I could occasionally work from home again, but I'm struggling to get Autocad to use the Nvidia graphics. No matter what I do, Autocad always reports that it is using the Intel 4600 graphics. I've tried right clicking and selecting 'Run with Nvidia ..... graphics processor. In the Nvidia control panel, it shows 'High performance Nvidia processor' is selected for Autocad, although it is 'greyed out' is not selectable. I tried re-installing win 8.1 from scratch and just installing the drivers from the original Clevo install disc but can't get the Nvidia drivers to show up in Autocad.
As a last resort, I put back the original SSD that was in when I bought the laptop and weirdly, this had a copy of Autocad 2015 still on it and it actually reported using the Nvidia drivers. I promptly installed 2016 to see if it was an issue just with this version, but that also correctly reported the Nvidia GPU being used.
When I re-installed Windows, I changed the bios to UEFI, because I thought it would be better overall, but the original install was done on a MBR partition, which I thought was odd at the time.
So the only conclusion is that this is what is causing the problem, unless anyone knows different?
Anyone else come across this issue?
Thanks and apologies for the long post!
    Pete B.

I suggest contacting autocad, there have been issues with optimus that I believe they have been working on. There may be a work around.

That is interesting. UEFI causing Optimus issues? Eh, in the future I'd just use dedicated GPU laptops, and give the finger to Intel and their hybrid iGPU/dGPU crud.
