    NVIDIA DRIVERS 280.19 BETA

    It's beta but yeah... gonna try to see if it can be installed without the modded inf files...after I'm done work today =.=;;;

    But if anyone else want to try installing it, feel free to leave a comment to see if it worked or not. :) Thanks

    EDIT: I downloaded and successfully installed it without the modded inf files.... hooray~!?

    It should work without modded .inf's because the 580M and 560M are listed in Supported Products:
    GeForce 500M series:
    GeForce GTX 580M, GeForce GTX 560M,

    Downloading now

    The supported products isn't always an indication if it supports your card, theres several subsets of each card for each vendor, there has been several occasions in the past where they list X card supported but only actually support 1 or 2 or so of the actual subsets at that time officially.

    If you want to see exactly what cards are supported by the driver open the Display.Driver folder of the package and look for ListDevices.txt, it'll show you exactly what cards are supported by what inf in the package, Clevo support falls under NVCV.inf, and in this case the 580M and 560M Clevo id's are listed so it does indeed support them.

    Wasn't trying to nitpick merely pointing that out since there seems to be some confusion at times about what is stated on the site and what the driver actually supports (Notable example would be the last WHQL that stated 560M support but only supported 1 specific subset, not Clevo), thought that might clear things up.

    So you are saying it is ok to install as is? As far as support goes.

    The nvcv.inf file is time/date stamped: 7/24/11 9:24AM

    I installed the new drivers, and I did get an unsigned driver warning.

    I re-ran the 3Dmark06 and 11 benchmarks without any improvement to the scores. There goes any hope of driver optimization improvement.

    You'll get that every time you install a beta driver.

    By running two synthetic benchmarks (whose emphasis is way overblown and has been for 10 years), you're ready to declare this driver set DOA.

    That's good thinking there.

    Stop hatin Saturn ;) I apologize for a poorly worded post, and thank you for pointing it out. I know synthetic benchmarks are BS too, and the real benchmark is improved FPS and visual quality. I just hoped for an additional boost in the score.
