What's the proper way of installing new drivers?

im old skool so i do it the old fashioned way which in my opinion is still the best way.
download driver sweeper > Phyxion.net - Driver Sweeper
i also use driver cleaner pro and also cc cleaner as they each find different bits of old drivers.
download new driver to desktop > go to control panel > add/remove program and delete nvidia old driver > reboot and hit F8 to boot into safe mode > run driver sweeper and tick all nvidia bits on list and run (upto you if you run cc cleaner as well) > reboot > load new driver from desktop > reboot and your done. -

-100 in 3dmark06 and +50 in vantage.
me not got 3dmak11 so cant test it
as Malibal#2 mentioned it will be more noticeable in individual games.
so far no bsod like last 2 beta's.
wish nvidia would default to full screen after an update and not aspect ratio. -
im not sure what i was pulling before, but if i overclock my 485m to 580m clocks i can pull a steady 33 fps in bf3 everything maxed, which is great for recording videos, cause i have it set to limit the fps to 30

The drivers run perfectly on the GTX 580M and they also perform fantastic with 15% OverClock:
I noticed a small drop in temperatures compared to the Previous Beta Verde 295.51.
Here you have a Video running Blade and Soul Beta Test 2 (Stock clocks):

Nvidia made a good job!
@MrDJ: Mine comes with Full-screen by default I manually uninstall my previous drivers and then install the new with a correct install.
When I uninstall I first remove PhysX then 3D software, then 3D controller, then HD Audio and the Driver last, you will have to reset twice. Then install the new Drivers.
Time to play!!Last edited by a moderator: May 6, 2015 -
thanks for the feedback mubay.
i will have to have a play about with different uninstalls to see if it changes things. -
Watch out some people have problems with the new nVIDIA driver(s).
Including me, just my laptops screen ceased to work for a while and it went insane, turned it on 2 hours later, works fine so far. Several instances of crashes and problems appearing everywhere on forums right now, make a backup.
Do ityou won't regret it.
