Is this the one that's supposed to fix the stutter?

This driver gives me a few hundred more points in 3DMark 06 (default; +500-600 points), and a slight increase in 3DMark Vantage. (Performance; +100-200 points)

It also seems to have fixed a bug in connection with a external screen, that was introduced with the latest couple of drivers.

Thumbs up. The first driver release since 186.81 that I think it's worth bothering with.

I havent had any time to sit and game but on my lunch break I installed the new drivers and ran a dpc latency check and didnt get any of those horrendous spikes through the roof I've gotten so used to seeing. Pretty much level across the board now.

    Good stuff.

Last night I got in about an hour of Quake Wars and another hour or so of BC2. Never caught a stutter. The night before Quake Wars was stuttering horribly. It's always been a particular bad offender for me.

Looks like problem solved. Or at the very least lessened substantially.

It shows little FPS improvement in most of my games; though I haven't tried all... I must say it looks a helluva lot smoother than the beta 257.15; which basically acted like a 197.16 that smoothed out some Media Player Classic and a few other rare video playback issues.

UPDATE: BF:BC2 used to give me screen flicker problems with DX10. It's barely present now; I've only seen it happen once in about an hour of play. A single flicker and that was all. So so far these are great drivers =D

i know these dont mean much but:
    3dmark6 with 186.81 > 9517 (only got a 9800GT so dont laugh)
    3dmark06 with 257.21 > 9525

    vantage
    186.81 > P4276
    257.21 > P5122 wow what a jump :D

the option to turn physx on/off has gone and now theres a dropdown box with auto select, graphics card or cpu

Another night of stutter free gaming.

I'm so happy after almost a year things are finally where they should be.

Now if only something could be done about the video connector creeping out of place every couple of weeks or so.

Wow, good news! Looks like finally you can abandon the good old 186.81 ;)
Nice to hear that the latency problem is fixed!
Good job Nvidia, if only you could do it 1 year ago...

Wow WHQL? If M$ the people who gave us ME and Vista give a thumbs up? I am excited.

I am being a smart () and just having fun I mean no offense. But I do find a twisted humor in my comment.

Please disregard if it offends, laugh if it makes you.

And yes good this has happened for you guys. Best of luck.

How did you guys install these, via LaptopVideo2Go?

Just an aside, I've been a happy user of LV2G, but a few months ago, they completely changed the format of the unlocked INF they put out with the drivers, and this change makes it so I cannot install any of their drivers anymore.

    Anyone else experiencing this?

Each time I watch a flash movie in fullscreen I get driver kernel error... It never happened before I updated drivers to WHQL 257.21 but it's weird that nobody else has this problem, but I didn't change anything else lately.

these are the official drivers from the nvidia website.
wont use lv2g as if your card dies and its found it could of been caused by the drivers then you wont be covered by warranty.

Yes but the official drivers from the Nvidia website won't install onto laptops, since they the INF which comes with them is locked for only desktop GPUs.

Unless you're using the Verde drivers...

So far I'm satisfied with these drivers. The beta got rid of the big spikes when the gpu was upclocking but left me with weird episodes of high latency once in a while when playing WoW.

The WHQL have reduced those episodes to a minimum... sometimes I get a few spikes in the first minute of running WoW (with a bit of stuttering), but it goes away quickly and I can play for hours without a spike. Will do more testing but this looks good so far.
