Before you blindly update, note that several 680m sli users (specifically with 3d display setups), see hard-crash-on installs with this install. (I did, as well as one Alienware user).
If you have a similar setup, avoid this driver update. -
thanks for posting that info.
i also had problems with vantage and 3dmark which both crash on boot up now with this driver.
i do a manual install as i keep the older physx driver as vantage wont run on the newest. i still had to remove and reload the old phsx and then they would run. -

Sometimes driver updates fix just as much as they break, or more so.
@bfaber - do you/other users still get the crash if a clean installation of the driver is performed (instead of updating over existing driver)? -
I get stuck at "installing 3d vision driver"
-
had enough. rolling back to whql 314.22
futuremark benches keep failing which never happened before. -
Holy cow - had just downloaded the driver, and was about to install on my 680m sli system (actually, was just here to look for handy driver update guides to make sure of the procedure)
Glad this caught my eye!! -
A big warning to those who are using their laptops for work. DO NOT USE THIS driver set. I was over at a clients office today, the driver had just been installed before I left the house. Upon arrival at the clients place BOOM! adobe CS6 started acting up with errors like "adobe has detected a change in your graphics drivers and has disabled all acceleration" not only that but I couldn't activate any of the graphical options in adobe, I had to run the app with the intel gfx which handicapped my productivity.
I next opened up my office suite 2013 and again BOOM as soon as the splash screen of word, excel, powerpoint, you name it. opens up I get the "this application has stopped functioning,..... windows is looking for solutions" I WAS PISSED AS HELL of embarrassment towards my client. Good thing it was a returning customer so he knows how I work. I rolled back the drivers and the apps came back working as if there wasn't a problem to begin with.
again to those who hadn't updated yet STAY AWAY FROM THIS PIECE OF SH*T -
thanks for the heads up on this.
could you end a report of what happened and what software it affected to nvidia support > Find Submissions
ive rolled back to 314.22 and all working fine again. score in all futuremarks are a fraction lower but id prefer bug free drivers to fps anyday. -

I have never had an Nvidia driver not install without some sort of failure notification. But I successfully installed this driver from the device manager! Didn't uninstall anything, and I didn't delete anything. I just let Windows 7 take care of it and it worked perfectly! Before my Nvidia Updater in the Control Panel didn't work and now it does. Go to your GPU in the device manager and select properties. From there go to the Driver tab and select Update Driver, and then "Browse my computer for the driver". It should show the folder that it extracted to in the C:\Nvidia\DisplayDriver and then let it go to work. I was so tired of going through all of the motions and always having it fail that I decided to try the simplest solution and it worked! Give it a try and let me know if it works...

It looks like this nVidia driver release is causing owners many problems.
I have a Clevo P370EM3 (680M SLI 3D Vision), and when installing this release (320.18) over 314.22 I get a blank screen. I hard-shutdown, rebooted and had another blank screen. Hard-shutdown, powered on with F8 for Safe Mode, uninstalled all nVidia drivers, rebooted with F8 for Safe Mode, launched Driver-Sweeper, removed all nVidia entries, rebooted with F8 for Safe Mode, ran Everything Search Engine, deleted all files with 'nvidia' in their names, rebooted with F8 for Safe Mode, ran jv16-1.3.0.195, deleted all 'nvidia' registry entries, rebooted normally into Windows, installed 314.22, which is stable. -
I have had nothing but problems with any driver starting with 320. beta or non beta. Using it in my NP9370 SLI GTX680M I get
nothing but BSOD memory dumps. As soon as I go back to 314.22 everything works fine..I've tried everything and same result.
Very disappointing considering I want maximum performance and paid for it.
One thing I did notice is the 3 times I have tried installing drivers 320 it always fails the first attempt -

You could always try installing under Safe Mode as well. I've had older NVidia drivers fail to install until I did so under Safe Mode (the driver, that is).
Then, if the utility doesn't install in Safe Mode, you can reinstall it after a normal boot. -
wow, i dont think ive seen such an unstable whql nvidia driver before. crazy stuff :what:
