    Hey Guys,

Been reading through loads of threads & man it gets confusing!

Basically can anyone contribute to this thread good information so that us less technically abled can Over Clock the 8800m GTX

I really appreciate everyone that is majorly experimenting out there as these are the guys that get results, but it gets hard to follow.

What drivers do you need to overclock?

Does it make a difference in the real world?

How do you do it/Can you do it with software (ntune for instance)

Or is it best to do it some other way in whichcase how?

If we get one thread that sticks to the topic, well a lot of people may get more from there 9262's

Thanks in advance for any info! :)
ps still have just one card 2nd on way!

im not the expert but i was helped looking at Dexgo's posting in this (clevo/sager) thread about overclocking ..

But mainly answers to your questions :
I oc'ed my 8800m gtx on vista 64. no software were working at that time.
So i used nvflash to flash the bios in dos mode. I found most infos about how to do so on google (run a search "flash nvidia bios" ) once u can (via a usb key) make a backup of your previous bios open it with nibitor and modify the clock settings, considering good ventilation u can get 600/1500/900 without problems (just make sure fans are always top speed)

i dont know exactly how and why but it seems I needed the .14 bios version (normally we have the .12) for nvidia and the latest bios for the motherboard.
they were rather hard to find tho' (had to ask seller for board drivers)

It does make a difference, got couple more fps and now crysis is playable with nice settings.
beware, u can **** your computer doing so. i guess u already know.

Don´t know with you Clevo guys, but with my Dell I easily push 625/1550/900 and I run that now 24/7 artifact free and no increase in heat. I know Dexgo has very good insight into the bios of these boards now.

Dexgo- just a quick thanks for posting your progress. I'm not ready to do any bios changes but when I am I will follow your path. I did check which bios came with the 5793 I received from Xotic, out of curiosity. It shipped with bios rev. ....08S and vbios ...14

Dumb question since I'm used to desktop video cards, but can't you just use Rivatuner to OC the card?

alot of drivers prevent overclocking. overclocking by the bios is more permanent efficient and you aren't restricted by drivers. and have to change it and mess around with it every driver change...
