Just picked up UT3 for $5 from the local BB. (Was selling regular price of 19.99 and got 15 off because of rewards) - Sweet!
I also have UT3 on PS3 and trust me - THEY ARE WORLDS APART! The m860tu plays it much much better.
I maxed out the resolution of my 1050 screen - enhanced detail to the max of the game settings - could not make details any higher.
I got Constant 57-60FPS! Even in Action sequences!
Frames |Time (ms) |Min | Max | Avg
316 | 5288 | 59| 61| 59.758
(Above) Trying to figure out this FRAPS program - sorry only have a few seconds of frames but I did it in heated online battle situation![]()
Couple screenshots below....but honestly guys - get this game! IMOP it is much more fun than crysis.

I would have to agree about the ps3 and the pc comparison, I thought it looked like crap on my old ps3. I just picked it up the other day for pc and it looks so much better.

Avg 78fps maxed on the NP5796 w/ 9800M GTX.
Have you installed the PhysX Mod? -
Nope, link? -
MICHAELSD01 Apple/Alienware Master
Get it here:

Make you have one of the later 177 drivers that enable PhysX. Performance is supposed to get 5-10fps better with the mod, along with a few extra maps. I bought UT3 for $20 last week, too, but I haven't really got a chance to play it yet. Any chance I do get to play games, I'm usually playing CoD4, I think I'm going to install it now. BTW, UT3 scales amazingly. On my desktop, I actually thought it was running too smooth maxed out with the demo (100-200fps+), some AA fixed that.

Um you realize that you should get near 70-80 FPS if you disable the V-Sync option... which is capping you at 60FPS.

Tearing < 10-20fps less...
Tearing is annoying as hell. Just make up for the extra performance you would be getting with AA. -
****, and here I was looking to buy UT3 for 29 bucks on steam. Been playing the demo on the m860tu, reminds me of the original....which is a good thing.
Lol, anyone know any sites I can pay and download it for a better rate? (and redownload in the event I need to) -
Ya PhysX is definately worth it. 177.92 drivers work well with it.
There are actually quite a few games enabled by PhysX

MICHAELSD01 Apple/Alienware Master
Do. Not. Install. 177.92. It makes a lot of textures blurry in a lot of games (particularly CoD4). A lot of people have been complaining about that, too. Wait for the next beta driver or the WHQL version.

There's a discussion about it causing blurry textures here:

Which games did you try with it? CoD4 is one of the games affected and I there's a few more. -
Seems like some had problems, some didn't.

sorry but i have to say this..
UT3 is a year old.
its game play is 10 years old.
your not quite up to date with the gaming scene are you ?
UT3s gfx are nice .. but this week should be about playing Spore and Warhammer.. not a very old reskined game
there is a reason the hardcore pc crowed dont play UT3... and its servers are internationaly dead -
UT III is a great game if you just want to load something up quick and run around shooting. It still offers good game play even today.
Its visual style is too much like the original Unreal Tournament. Its graphics are not impressive at all. Good, but not impressive. -
