    Hello all,
looking to buy a D901C pretty much maxed out but have been struggling to find a european reseller that doesn't take the P with pricing (rock I am looking at you here).
I have found plenty of places in the state that will ship internationally but am worried about the extra charges I will get stung with.
Its getting so bad that I am also looking at the dell 1730 but REALLY would like a quad core.
Anyway, during my searches I came across this seller. Although the main company is american, looking at their site they have distribution centers in france which should allow me to avoid all those pesky import duties and vat.
However I'm not really the sort of person who orders from an unknown source. so has anyone heard owt about these people? The price works out to be about 2.7K with a q6700, dual 88's, 4gb, 200gb raid0 so not too bad I reckon and certainly cheaper than rock (also been on the rock forums and they seem to be messing people around with delivery dates).

All opinions/comments would be appreciated and if you have alternate recommendations as to where to get one from that would be great too.

Rock Direct (very expensive), Devil Tech, Schenker, XXODD and maybe others carry the D901C in Europe. It's cheaper to import from US though.

    Have you done this fade?
Any recommendations as to who to use?
I was actually thinking about this as I have a couple of friendly suppliers through work based in the states who I could get shipped to and they would then ship it to me (marked up to avoid those taxes etc) or have you found that getting it shipped by the reseller avoids that anyway. Not too keen on getting stung with 17.5%vat plus import duty!!

    Cheers

thing about buying from usa is that if anything happens to your laptop, you'd have to ship it over again to get it fixed =/

or you could try DPC tech

they have to D901c renamed to frankenstein.

just been speccing one up at powernotebooks.com pretty high spec comes to £2400!!!! same spec from rock is +1K!!!
I know about the ripoff by customs etc but hopefully I have a way around that. Have contacted them about it and they are fine to ship it to an address in the states and it be forwarded on from there. No adverse affects to the warranty etc. Sounds pretty good.
Alos been speaking to Andrew at Kobalt computers in the uk. They are looking and supplying these too. Just needs to gauge the interest. More the better I guess. no info on pricing though.

They are more expensive than Novatech and around the same prices as Rock (obviously I'd chose Rock over Kobalt anyday).
