    >.> Yah I know its the same model, but what through me off was the radeon card in it.

    Pre-Computex 08: Intel QX9770 and Mobile Viper HD 3850

Smooth Creations and Diamond Multimedia have teamed up to develop the "Broodling" notebook PC gaming system.

With specs like Intel's QX9770 CPU, Diamond Mobile Viper Radeon HD 3850, WD's 500GB Caviar SE16 hard drive, 4GB of GSkill's Dual Channel DDR2 memory and an external power supply, this is more of a desktop replacement than a full blooded notebook.

This is the first notebook that uses Intel's QX9770 CPU, and certainly the first one with ATI's HD 3850 card. According to the press release, the mentioned specs are enough for 12822 3DMarks in 3DMark06. It just wouldn't be a special Smooth Creations notebook if it wasn't hand painted.

The more interesting was the statement that has caught our eye, where Mario Gastelum, lead engineer at Diamond Multimedia states that, the next high performance achievement could be a Skulltrail Notebook, and that they are already working on it.

The press release does mention certain overclocking capabilities, but there is little info on the actual clocks of the Broodling Notebook, since Smooth Creations and Diamond Multimedia will showcase this notebook at Computex. We will do our best to get more info as soon as show starts.

Is that score for a single 3850?
I really don't know about ATI GPU's so please excuse my stupid question.

We'll see if they can pull it off. As an aside, Smooth Creations should probably be added to the Clevo reseller list if they aren't on it already as their Smoothbook DR appears to be a D900/D901C under all that fancy paintin', although the options they offer are quite limited, and quite overpriced.

For some reasons, ATI always win in 3DMark06 in most the benchmarks I've seen but in game, it's the opposite, nVIDIA always take the lead. But WTH is that, a 3850 in the D901C,It should be a HD3870 at least.
EDIT: I went to there website but there is no HD3850 :-/ . And one more thing about SmoothCreation, do they deal with the laptop themselves or through other companys? It might be one hell o a nightmare if they are just bought the laptop and add a paintjob to laptops.

I think there was actually a desktop card that amd was toying around with that had 3850x3 on a single card and they where the mobile version.

Yeah I read about something like that too but it's not AMD, It's ASUS who is toying around with it. But I wondered if that's true or not.

Yep, you are right! Maybe it is a mistake in the announcement. Otherwise it is misleading news (Fake).

Good catch, clearly they've brought the FX series! 5800M GTX :O

    No really good catch.

It would be cool though to have ATi Graphics or both ATi/nVidia as choices, though some would say ATi will win this round... no tellin' yet though :D

Damn, this article got me semi-excited... i figured that was a fake... Although im sure you COULD theoretically run the QX9770 if you tried... just make sure you have a Fans and notebook cooler on high! IF a laptop ATI card could do that I almost had hope for them. Either way, wat chassis is that?! THE d901c babbaay! BOOYA!

Have to go with fake on this myself. You would think that one of the other clevo resellers would have mentioned it. Heck Eurocom would have listed it months ago!
